Meet Cura. 🐶❤️

Cura had a history of open-type Pyometra last year. She was successfully treated before and went back to enjoying life. But sometimes, pyometra has a way of returning, especially when the infected uterus is still present.

Last week, she came back looking tired, with little appetite, and vaginal discharge. On top of that, her blood work revealed she was also battling a blood parasite while her liver and kidneys needed extra support.

This time, her owner chose the permanent solution — Surgery.

Days later, the transformation says it all. Cura is eating again, full of energy, her surgical wound is healing beautifully, and that wagging tail is back where it belongs.

Cura finally gets to go home. Her journey isn't over yet, as she'll continue her medications for her blood parasite and receive treatment to support her liver and kidneys.

💛 Did you know?
Pyometra is a serious uterine infection that usually affects unspayed female dogs. It can cause lethargy, loss of appetite, vomiting, fever, increased thirst, and vaginal discharge (in open pyometra). Without timely treatment, it can become life-threatening.

Blood parasites, on the other hand, attack the blood cells and may lead to anemia, weakness, and organ damage. When the liver and kidneys are also affected, recovery takes patience, proper medication, and regular monitoring.

🎓 Guess who's graduating... again?

If you've been following our page for a while, you probably remember Ling Ling and Tamtam.

Last April, they weren't here for happy photos.
They were tested positive for Canine Distemper Virus along with other viral infections and spent a week in our Canine Distemper Rehabilitation Center.

Fast forward to today ...

Look who's back—not as patients, but as proud graduates! 🎉🐾
This time, they're celebrating something much happier: completing their vaccination program!

Meet Pogi. 😼

You know you're a VIP when you keep coming back to the clinic... but unfortunately for Pogi, it wasn't for the treats.

This handsome boy kept getting blocked and needed several urinary catheterizations because he simply couldn't p*e. After one too many repeat episodes, his family and attending veterinarian decided it was time for a Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) — a procedure that gives cats like Pogi a better chance at avoiding future life-threatening urinary blockages.

Fourteen days of "vacation" (a.k.a. confinement), followed by another 1 month of home medications, check-ups, and lots of patience later... Pogi is finally back to doing what every cat should do—p*eing comfortably!
🎉. His incision has healed nicely, and he's back to living his best cat life.

🐾 A little reminder for cat parents:
If your cat keeps visiting the litter box but nothing comes out, strains to urinate, cries, or suddenly stops eating and becomes quiet, don't assume it's constipation. A urinary blockage is an emergency, especially in male cats, and waiting even a few hours can make a huge difference.

🐾 “Imagine needing to p*e so badly… but a tiny rock said: ‘Not today.’” 😭🪨

Meet Nugget — our late-night emergency patient who rushed into the clinic around midnight because she could no longer urinate and was clearly in severe pain. (Not exactly the kind of midnight snack emergency her name suggests. 😅)

Nugget already had a previous history of bladder stones, and during examination, her bladder was extremely full, hard as a rock, and very painful to touch. She also lost her appetite — which is often the body’s way of saying, “Something is seriously wrong here.”

Her attending veterinarian, together with her pawparent, decided to proceed with surgery to remove the stones and relieve the blockage.

And good news: Nugget pulled through successfully. 🧡💚

Within 2 days, she was already eating again, p*eing normally, and acting much more comfortable. Now, we’re just helping her surgical wound heal nicely. 🥳🤧

📚 Quick Pet Reminder:
A pet that cannot urinate is an EMERGENCY. Bladder obstruction can lead to toxin build-up, bladder rupture, kidney damage, and even DEATH if left untreated.

Signs to watch out for:
🐶 Straining to p*e
🐶 Crying while urinating
🐶 Frequent attempts with little to no urine
🐶 Bloody urine
🐶 Loss of appetite or vomiting

Sometimes the problem isn’t “matigas na ulo”… it’s literally matigas na bato. 🪨😅

🐾 “Uter-us? More like Uter-NO.” 😅

Meet Chichi, a 10-year-old aspin from Pasig, who was brought to our clinic for poor appetite, vomiting, a hard enlarged abdomen, and vaginal discharge. Diagnostics later revealed open-type pyometra, blood parasites, liver disease, and kidney disease — basically a full package of problems nobody asked for. 😒

Despite the risks, her owner chose to fight for her, and emergency surgery was performed the same day. Thankfully, Chichi proved she was tougher than all her diagnoses combined. 🩺❤️

Seven days later, she’s back to eating, playing, and pretending she didn’t scare everyone half to death. 😭

Reminder: vaginal discharge and a swollen abdomen in unspayed dogs are never something to ignore. Pyometra can go from “mild” to life-threatening very quickly.

Emergency C-section… or just a little drama? 🙄🐶

Meet Mish — came in for an emergency check-up because her puppy wasn’t coming out for about an hour, and her water already broke. Everyone was like… okay, this is getting serious. 😬

Our attending veterinarian and Mish’s furrmom agreed on an emergency C-section after the puppy’s foot — already p*eking — started turning violet. Yes, ma’am, we were this close to scrubbing in. Gloves ready. Instruments ready. Stress level? 📈

But Mish had a different plan 😌✨

Right when we were about to proceed, she suddenly decided to deliver on her own.

An hour later — boom — two puppies successfully out. 🎉

Plot twist of the day?
Both babies are alive, kicking, and probably already as dramatic as their mom.

Moral of the story:
Sometimes they don’t need surgery… they just need an audience. 😏

🐾 Welcome Back, Milo! ⚡

Meet Milo — one month ago, he checked into our Canine Distemper Rehabilitation Center like he accidentally queued for the hardest level of life.

He was diagnosed with Canine Distemper and Blood Parasitism and for a moment it looked like his storyline took a serious detour.

But Milo said, “Not today.” 💪

After 7 days of intensive care, he tested NEGATIVE for distemper — already giving us hope for a strong comeback arc.

And after 1 month of treatment, we’ve got even better news:
✔️ Blood parasite treament — successfully done
✔️ Energy — superrrrrrrrr 😆
✔️ Main character status — restored 😎

Now he’s back… but not as a patient.
He’s just here for his vaccination and deworming session — basically a VIP maintenance visit to keep his comeback era going strong 💉🐶
