Community Advisory: Mt. Kanlaon Eruption & Ashfall in Cebu City

Ashfall has been reported across Cebu City following the recent eruption of Mt. Kanlaon. This advisory is for everyone in our community โ€” including pet owners, rescuers, and animal advocates:

โš ๏ธ Health & Safety Reminders for Humans and Animals:

๐Ÿ˜ท Wear a facemask (preferably an N95) to protect against ash inhalation.

๐Ÿš— Drive carefully โ€” ashfall can reduce visibility and make roads slippery.

๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ Keep pets indoors or sheltered to avoid inhaling ash.

๐Ÿฅ› Provide clean drinking water โ€” ash can contaminate bowls and outdoor sources.

๐Ÿพ Wash paws and fur after brief outdoor exposure to prevent irritation.

๐Ÿฆ For strays and other animals, place temporary shelters (cardboard, tarps, crates) and safe food/water stations away from ashfall.

๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ต Pregnant women, children, older adults, those with respiratory conditions, and even animals should avoid prolonged exposure to ashfall.
