Our very own Dr. Maricel Garcia recently attended an intensive 2-day Veterinary Orthopedic Surgery training organized by the Philippine Animal Hospital Association (PAHA) and led by the esteemed Dr. Mark Clyde, an Australian Recognized Specialist Surgeon, Orthopedic Surgery.
This event took place at the NuStar Hotel in beautiful Cebu City, Philippines on August 30-31, 2025

During the training , participants delved into various facets of orthopedic surgery, gaining insights from Dr. Clyde's extensive experience in the field. A key takeaway from the sessions was the emphasis on decision-making and strategic planning as essential components of successful orthopedic surgeries. Dr. Clyde highlighted that these elements often determine the outcome of surgical procedures more than the technical ex*****on itself.

Effective decision-making in orthopedic surgery involves a thorough understanding of the patient's condition, evaluating the pros and cons of different surgical options, and anticipating potential complications. Strategic planning allows veterinarians to prepare for unexpected challenges during surgery and tailor procedures to each patient's unique needs, ultimately leading to better outcomes.
