🇫🇷 FRANCE TAKES A STRONG STAND FOR ANIMALS 🐾
France has passed one of Europe’s toughest animal-welfare laws, making pet abandonment a serious criminal offence.

Under French law, abandoning a dog, cat or any domestic animal can now be punished by up to 3 years in prison and a fine of up to €45,000.
If abandonment leads to the animal’s death, penalties rise to 5 years in prison and €75,000.

This law was introduced after years of France seeing tens of thousands of pets dumped every year — especially during holiday seasons. Abandonment is now legally recognised for what it truly is: a form of animal cruelty.

Alongside this, France has also:
• Banned the sale of cats and dogs in pet shops
• Introduced a “certificate of commitment” before anyone can acquire a pet
• Increased penalties for animal abuse across the board

Owning an animal is not a temporary hobby. It is a lifetime responsibility.

Other countries should be watching closely.
