Mas healthy ba agad kapag “low sodium” ang dog food? 🧂🐶

Sodium often gets a bad reputation, pero dogs actually need it as part of a complete and balanced diet. The goal isn't necessarily to eliminate sodium, it's making sure their overall nutrition provides an appropriate amount for their needs.

And when we talk about kidney and urinary health, diet is only part of the picture. Proper hydration matters too, especially sa mainit na weather dito sa Pilipinas. 💧

Most importantly, low-sodium dog food is not a treatment for kidney or urinary disease. If your dog already has a medical condition, their nutritional needs may be different, so always discuss their diet with your veterinarian.

Good nutrition isn't about one ingredient alone. It's about the whole diet + hydration + your dog's individual needs.

Sometimes, fighting for one more chance makes all the difference. ✨

Clark was referred to our hospital for a CT scan and assessment of a craniofacial tumor.🩻

The CT revealed an aggressive mass causing osteolysis of the zygomatic arch and part of the mandibular ramus, with involvement extending toward his right eye.

After an honest discussion about his prognosis and options, Clark’s family chose to fight for him.

We proceeded with surgery and were able to remove the tumor together with the severely affected bone.

The days after surgery weren’t easy. We managed his pain, monitored him closely, and celebrated every little improvement.

And today, Clark ate. ❤️

Watching him eat again after everything he has been through was one of those moments that reminded us why we keep fighting.

It felt like Clark was telling us, “I’m still here.”

He is now more comfortable, stable, and cooperating with treatment. There is still a long road ahead, but today, we celebrate this win.

Huge kudos to Clark’s family for their courage, commitment, and love—and for giving him another chance to live.

Keep fighting, Clark. We’re right here with you. 🐾❤️

Your pet doesn’t understand why you walked away. They only know they’re waiting for you to come back.

If you can no longer care for your pet, please talk to us—don’t abandon them at the vet.

We understand that circumstances change. Financial problems happen. Life can become overwhelming, and sometimes keeping a pet becomes difficult.

But abandoning them should never be the answer.

Talk to us. We can discuss your options. We can try to find resources. We can talk about surrender, rescue, adoption, or what else can realistically be done.

Veterinary clinics are not dumping grounds, and veterinary staff cannot automatically take responsibility for every animal left behind.

Your pet trusted you their whole life.

If you can’t continue caring for them, please give them the dignity of finding a responsible way forward—not simply walking away.

Are you giving “adobo” or other table food to your pet? 🥘🐶

This is an actual gallbladder stone we encountered in our clinic.

This patient was regularly fed table food and eventually came to us jaundiced and with severe liver dysfunction. Ultrasound revealed gallbladder stone formation (cholelithiasis).

Thankfully, after treatment, this patient survived. 🙏

But this is an important reminder: just because our food tastes good to us doesn’t mean it’s appropriate for our pets.

Table food can be high in fat, salt, and seasonings, and ingredients commonly used in Filipino dishes—especially onion and garlic—can also be harmful to dogs.

Diet is not the only cause of gallstones or liver disease, but long-term inappropriate nutrition can contribute to health problems and complicate existing disease.

Hindi porket kinakain natin, safe na rin para sa kanila.

Give your pets a complete and balanced diet appropriate for their species, age, and medical needs.

Prevention will always be better than seeing them critically ill. 🐾

Mahal mo ang pet mo, but what happens when the treatment is beyond what you can afford? 🐾

Financial limitations are one of the hardest realities in veterinary care. Sometimes may available na treatment, pero laboratory tests, medications, procedures, hospitalization, and continued care can become financially overwhelming.

But having a limited budget doesn’t mean you love your pet any less. At the same time, veterinary hospitals need medicines, equipment, supplies, and trained professionals to continue providing care.

Instead of turning it into pet owners vs. veterinarians, honest communication can help.
Ask your vet: Ano ang pinaka-urgent? Ano ang options? May alternative approach ba? Ano ang kailangang gawin ngayon, at ano ang maaaring gawin later?

Sometimes, finding the most realistic care plan starts with a compassionate conversation, not judgment. ❤️

You don’t become a bad veterinarian the moment you don’t know the answer.

Remember: saying “I don’t know” doesn’t make you less of a veterinarian.

Great vets don’t know everything. They never stop learning.

There will always be cases that challenge us, diagnoses that make us think twice, and moments when we need to ask for help.

Medicine is constantly evolving. Being a great veterinarian isn’t about knowing every answer—it’s caring enough to keep searching for the right one for your patient.

Stay curious. Stay humble. Keep learning. 🩺🐾

To my fellow veterinarians and colleagues, thank you so much for every referral. 🙌🏻

It means a lot knowing that you trust me and our team with your patients—especially knowing how much they mean to you and their families.

I never take that trust lightly. Every patient you send our way, we will care for as if they were our own.

Thank you for trusting our skills, supporting our growth, and allowing us to work together for the animals we all chose this profession for. 🩺🐾

At the end of the day, we may work in different clinics and hospitals, but we are on the same team—with the same goal: to give our patients the best chance and the best care possible.

Here’s to a veterinary community that refers, collaborates, supports, and lifts each other up.
