Si Benjie ay isa sa mga asong nasunog ang paw pads matapos maglakad sa mainit na semento. Ngayon, ligtas na siya sa kanyang forever home, pero marami pa ring hayop ang patuloy na nalalagay sa ganitong panganib.

Ayon kay Dr. Anne Almazar ng Philippine Animal Welfare Society, isa ang heat stroke sa pinaka-karaniwang panganib sa mga alagang hayop tuwing tag-init. Madalas, napapansin na lang ito kapag malala na.

Sa sobrang init ng panahon, hindi kayang i-regulate ng ating mga alaga ang kanilang body temperature katulad sa ating mga tao. Kaya responsibilidad natin na protektahan sila.

Kung maglalakad kasama ang alaga:
• Sa umaga o hapon lamang upang hindi tirik ang araw
• Mas mabuti kung sa damuhan o may lilim na lugar
• Magdala ng tubig palagi

Siguraduhin din na sila ay nasa presko o malamig na lugar, at huwag silang iiwan sa init, lalo na sa sasakyan o nakatali sa labas.

Hindi sila makapagsabi kapag nasasaktan na sila. Nasa atin ang responsibilidad na panatilihin silang ligtas 💚🐾
