This little piglet, at only 2 days old, underwent surgery to correct atresia ani, a condition in which the a**l opening is absent at birth.

Without this opening, the piglet cannot pass stool, making surgical correction essential. The surgery gives this tiny patient a chance to grow and thrive.

In a story shared by The Dodo, a cat named Louie was still eating normally despite vomiting more often. An X-ray revealed a mass in his stomach, and 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝟯𝟱 𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

Curious cats can find small items we thought we’d put away. A few pet-proofing habits can help:

✅ Keep hair ties, rubber bands, and string in closed drawers or containers.
✅ Check floors, bedside tables, and under furniture for items that may have fallen.
✅ Put away string toys after playtime.

Despite remaining active and continuing to eat normally, Lily, a 4-year-old dog, presented with 𝗱𝘆𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮 (difficulty and discomfort while urinating) and 𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮 (blood in the urine).

An X-ray revealed multiple radiopaque mineral densities inside her urinary bladder, consistent with bladder stones. Lily was diagnosed with 𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘀, or the formation of stones within the urinary tract.

Lily underwent 𝗰𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆, a surgical procedure in which the urinary bladder is opened to remove the stones.

After four days of IV fluid therapy, injectable medications, and close monitoring, Lily was discharged and is expected to make a full recovery.

Unable to pass urine for two days, this cat was brought to a Beast Friend clinic for urgent veterinary care. Our vet immediately worked to help restore urine flow and relieve discomfort.

𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄: 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐢’𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞

Levi, a 6-year-old male Golden Retriever, was brought to a Beast Friend clinic for an X-ray after experiencing episodes of pe**le bleeding.

Although Levi was bright, alert, and had normal vital signs and an unremarkable complete blood count, diagnostic imaging revealed an underlying urinary problem.

The X-ray showed a silica stone inside Levi’s urinary bladder. An ultrasound further revealed that the stone had a distinct flower-like or jackstone appearance, along with diffuse thickening of the bladder wall.

Levi underwent a 𝗰𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆, a surgical procedure in which the urinary bladder is opened to remove the stone. He was admitted for four days and received IV fluid therapy, injectable medications, and post-operative monitoring.

Several days after surgery, Levi returned to the clinic for his follow-up checkup and suture removal. This goodest boi has since recovered and was placed on a specialized diet to support his urinary health.
