🚨 FLUTD in Male Cats: What Every Cat Owner Should Know 🐾
Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) is a common but potentially life-threatening condition, especially in male cats. Because male cats have a narrower urethra, they are at higher risk of urinary blockage — which is a medical emergency.

🔎 How to Detect FLUTD Early:
Watch out for these signs:
• Straining to urinate
• Frequent trips to the litter box with little to no urine
• Crying or vocalizing while urinating
• Blood in the urine
• Licking the ge***al area excessively
• Urinating outside the litter box
• Lethargy, vomiting, or loss of appetite (late signs, possible blockage)
⚠️ If your male cat cannot pass urine at all, seek veterinary care immediately. A blocked bladder can become fatal within 24–48 hours.

🛡️ How to Help Prevent FLUTD:
• Encourage water intake (wet food, water fountains, multiple bowls)
• Provide a balanced urinary diet when recommended
• Maintain a healthy weight
• Reduce stress (clean litter boxes, environmental enrichment)
• Regular veterinary check-ups
• Keep litter boxes clean and accessible (1 per cat + 1 extra rule)

Early detection saves lives. If you notice any urinary changes, don’t wait — consult your veterinarian right away.

𝘾𝙇𝙀𝙊: 𝙋𝙔𝙊𝙈𝙀𝙏𝙍𝘼 𝘾𝘼𝙎𝙀 𝙄𝙉 𝘾𝘼𝙏

Cleo, a 3year old patient was recently diagnosed with pyometra, a serious and potentially life-threatening uterine infection that commonly affects unspayed female cats. Pyometra occurs when bacteria infect the uterus, leading to the accumulation of pus and systemic illness if left untreated.

𝘾𝙇𝙄𝙉𝙄𝘾𝘼𝙇 𝙎𝙄𝙂𝙉𝙎 𝙈𝘼𝙔 𝙄𝙉𝘾𝙇𝙐𝘿𝙀:
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Vomiting
• Increased thirst or urination
• Abdominal enlargement
• Vaginal discharge (in some cases)

Due to the severity of the condition, the patient underwent an emergency ovariohysterectomy (spay surgery) to remove the infected uterus. The procedure was successful, and Cleo is currently in post-operative recovery.

This case highlights the importance of early detection and preventive care. Routine spaying remains the most effective way to prevent pyometra and protect the long-term health of female cats.

RABIES POSITIVE - Awareness Post 🧠🐾

May patient kami na confirmed Rabies via BAI laboratory testing.

Why it wasn’t suspected immediately:
✔️ Mataba at well-cared
✔️ Indoor dog
✔️ Kumakain pa

Observed signs:
• Nagsusuka
• Biglaang pagbabago ng ugali
• Inaaway ang kasamang a*o
• Kinakagat ang sariling paa
• Nasusuka tuwing nilalagyan ng tubig ang bibig

History:
•Minsan lang nakalabas at nakaaway ang stray dog
•Hindi nabakunahan dahil “indoor lang”

Unfortunately, progression was rapid, at namatay ang patient.

⚠️ Important reminders for pet owners:

•Hindi lahat ng rabies ay aggressive agad
•Hindi lahat may obvious na sugat
•Kahit indoor pets can be exposed
•Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms appear
•But 100% preventable through vaccination

💉 Vaccinate your pets - indoor or outdoor.

Rabies does not choose. Prevention saves lives.

Coco🐶
Today, we performed a castration procedure on a male Shih Tzu with bilateral inguinal cryptorchidism.

Cryptorchidism is a condition where one or both testicles fail to descend into the sc***um. In this case, both testicles were located in the inguinal area (bilateral inguinal cryptorchidism).

Retained testicles can significantly increase the risk of:
▪️ Testicular tumors
▪️ Torsion (twisting of the testicle)
▪️ Hormonal-related behavioral issues

The patient underwent surgical castration under general anesthesia to safely remove both retained testicles. The procedure was completed successfully, and he is now recovering comfortably under close monitoring.💙

Early detection and timely surgical intervention are very important in cryptorchid cases to prevent future complications.

📌 Reminder to pet owners: If your male dog’s testicles are not visible in the sc***um by 6 months of age, consult your veterinarian for proper evaluation.

𝑵𝒆𝒓𝒐 🐱, 10-month old male cat who came in to our clinic due to severe and deep lacerations along the base of his tail. He recently underwent wound cleaning and suture placement under general anesthesia.

Because of the extent of the injury, castration was also performed to help ensure better healing and prevent further complications.

He did great during the procedure, and now he’s on the road to recovery with proper treatment and lots of post operative care. Laser therapy is also being done to reduce inflammation and promote fast wound healing.

We’re wishing Nero a fast and smooth recovery, you’ve got this, little fighter! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
