🛑 PRIORITIZE HEALTH OVER PRICE: A Crucial Warning to All Future Paw-Parents
At Pure Breed Paws, we believe that bringing a puppy home should be a moment of joy, not the beginning of a tragedy. Lately, we’ve heard too many stories of new owners losing their puppies just 3 or 4 days after purchase.
The Reality Check:
Many buyers are falling victim to "hidden" illnesses. Puppies are being sold with Parvovirus, severe dehydration, or neurological issues (seizures) because they weren't properly vaccinated or cared for by the breeder.
It is not just about the "Quality" of the breed—it is about the IGNORANCE of the buyer and the negligence of the seller.
⚠️ DON'T BE A VICTIM. CHECK THE VET CARD.
A "cheap" puppy can quickly become an expensive nightmare. You might save money on the "buying price," but you will spend triple that amount on emergency vet confinement, medications, and laboratory tests. Worse, you might still end up losing your furry friend.
Before you pay, DEMAND to see the Vet Card (Vaccination Record) via PM and verify the following:
The Vet’s Signature: A legitimate vaccine shot MUST be administered and signed by a Licensed Veterinarian. Stickers alone are not enough.
Updated Schedules: Ensure vaccines and deworming are up-to-date and not "overdue.
Authenticity: If the seller refuses to send a clear photo of the record, walk away.
🛑 A CRUCIAL REMINDER TO NEW OWNERS: THE RESPONSIBILITY CONTINUES WITH YOU.
Securing a valid Vet Card from the seller is only the first step. The moment that puppy enters your home, their health becomes your full responsibility. Do not treat vaccines as optional or something that can wait. A responsible seller provides the first shots, but it is YOUR absolute duty to continue the series ON TIME. If the Vet Card states the next shot is due one week after you take the puppy home, you must bring them to a licensed veterinarian on that exact date. Failing to complete the vaccination schedule because you "forgot" or thought it wasn't urgent is gross negligence. If your puppy gets sick because you didn't follow through, that responsibility falls squarely on you, the new owner. Protection only works if the series is completed. Don't stop the vaccines; finish what the seller started.
Your excitement should never override your due diligence. Do not let your eagerness to own a dog cause the suffering of an innocent animal. At the end of the day, the dog suffers the most, and you are left with an empty wallet and a broken heart.
Be a responsible buyer. Demand transparency. Prioritize health. 🐾
PARVO IS REAL, AND IT'S DEADLY.
