I am so, so grateful for every single person who showed up for us during those really tough days.
To our “neighbors” who were always checking on us, making sure we were okay, asking if we needed anything, and even driving and coming with us when we had to change clinics, thank you. We love you.
To my employer, who never made me feel guilty for taking time off and, instead, encouraged me to step away from work and focus solely on Coal, thank you. Thank you for giving me the space and understanding to be there for him when he needed me the most.
To my coworkers and friends who never stopped checking in on us, sending messages, asking for updates, and most importantly, praying with me and for Coal, thank you. Every message, every prayer, and every little reminder that we weren’t alone meant more to me than you’ll ever know. 🤍
To Tin, who answered my call early in the morning when I was breaking down, overthinking, and desperately waiting for what I was so scared would be bad news, thank you for being there.
To my sister, my cousin, and Louize, who never complained whenever we had to rush Coal, no matter what time of day or night, thank you for always being ready to help.
And to Ate Undet, who made sure we always had chicken for Coal so he could eat and take his meds on time, thank you. 🥹
I feel incredibly, incredibly lucky to have each and every one of you. And honestly, I don’t think I would still have Coal with me today without your help.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for showing up, for staying, for helping, and for carrying us through one of the scariest times of our lives.
I love you all so, so much. 🤍
