They say “just a dog,” but they don’t see
The soul that used to follow me
Through storms of life, through joy and strife,
You weren’t a pet… you were my life.
No words can reach this wound inside,
No tear can cleanse the love I hide.
It lingers soft, but cuts so deep
A grief too wild for me to keep.
I hope you're chasing winds above,
With fields to run, and skies of love.
And when I cross that final shore,
I’ll see you waiting tail once more.
