👂🐾 EAR MITES? LET’S KEEP THOSE EARS CLEAN! 🐾
Ear mites are tiny parasites that can cause intense itching, dark ear discharge, redness, bad odor, and discomfort in our fur babies.
🔍 Common signs to watch for:
• Frequent ear scratching
• Head shaking
• Dark, coffee-ground-like ear wax
• Red or irritated ears
• Unpleasant ear odor

🧼 How to help prevent ear problems:
✔️ Check your pet’s ears regularly
✔️ Keep ears clean and dry
✔️ Avoid using cotton buds deep inside the ear canal
✔️ Have your pet’s ears checked if you notice unusual discharge or itching
✔️ Follow your veterinarian’s recommended ear-mite treatment and parasite control

Don’t wait until your pet is uncomfortable. 🐶🐱❤️
Bring your fur baby to Pawtector Veterinary Clinic for proper ear examination and treatment.

🔬 Microscopic View of Otodectes cynotis
(Ear Mites) 🐱👂

A feline patient recently visited Pawtector Veterinary Clinic due to persistent ear scratching and discomfort. During the examination, we identified Otodectes cynotis, commonly known as ear mites, under the microscope.

These tiny parasites live inside the ear canal and feed on ear debris and skin oils. Ear mite infestations can cause:
🐾 Intense itching and scratching
🐾 Dark brown or black ear discharge (similar to coffee grounds)
🐾 Head shaking
🐾 Ear inflammation and irritation
🐾 Secondary bacterial or yeast infections if left untreated

The good news is that ear mites are treatable with the proper medication and thorough ear cleaning. Early diagnosis is important to prevent complications and keep your pet comfortable.

If your cat or dog is showing signs of itchy ears, frequent head shaking, or unusual ear discharge, don’t wait—bring them in for a check-up.

🐾 A Brave New Beginning for Ginger! 😺

Meet Ginger, a 2-year-old Persian cat who showed incredible strength as she underwent a Cesarean Section (C-Section) together with an Ovariohysterectomy (spay surgery) last June 26, 2026 at Pawtector Veterinary Clinic.

Pregnancy and delivery can sometimes become life-threatening for our feline companions, especially when complications arise. Through timely veterinary intervention, Ginger received the care she needed, giving her the best chance for a safe recovery and a healthier future.

Procedure Performed:
✅ Cesarean Section (C-Section)
✅ Ovariohysterectomy (Spay Surgery)

Why was surgery necessary?
Complications during pregnancy or labor can put both the mother and kittens at serious risk. A Cesarean Section helps safely deliver the kittens when natural birth is no longer possible, while an Ovariohysterectomy prevents future uterine diseases, such as pyometra, and unwanted pregnancies.

Early veterinary intervention saves lives.
✨ Every successful surgery is a reminder that early recognition of warning signs and seeking immediate veterinary care can save lives.

To all fur parents:
🐱 If your pregnant pet is experiencing prolonged labor, excessive straining without delivering, weakness, or unusual discharge, seek immediate veterinary care.

Thank you, Ginger’s family, for trusting Pawtector Veterinary Clinic with her care. We’re honored to be part of her journey toward healing.
