🐾 Why do we require updated vaccinations and tick & flea prevention before grooming? ✂️🛁

At Paws, Beaks & Hooves Veterinary Clinic, your pet's safety—and the safety of every furry client we groom—is our top priority. 💚
Before your dog is accepted for grooming, please make sure they are:
✅ Up-to-date on vaccinations (especially Anti-Rabies and 5-in-1/DHPP)
✅ Protected against ticks and fleas with regular preventive treatment
✅ Free from visible ticks, fleas, and mites before their grooming appointment

Why is this important?
🐶 Protects all pets. Vaccinations help reduce the spread of contagious diseases that can easily pass between dogs in shared grooming areas.
🕷️ Prevents parasite infestations. Just one dog carrying ticks or fleas can spread them to other pets and throughout the grooming area.
💚 Keeps your pet comfortable. Fleas, ticks, and mites can cause itching, skin infections, hot spots, anemia, and even transmit serious diseases.
👩‍⚕️ Protects our team. Some parasites and diseases can also affect people, so maintaining a clean and safe environment benefits everyone.

🚨 Your cat keeps going to the litter box... pero wala namang nailalabas? That's NOT normal. 🚨

Cats are experts at hiding pain, so when they start showing signs, they're usually telling us something is really wrong. 😿

One possible cause is Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD)—a condition that affects the bladder and urethra. If left untreated, especially in male cats, it can lead to a urinary blockage, which is a life-threatening emergency.

💡 What can cause FLUTD?
💧 Not drinking enough water
🪨 Urinary crystals or bladder stones
😿 Stress or sudden changes at home
🍽️ Poor diet or being overweight
🦠 Urinary tract infection (less common in young cats)
❓ Sometimes, there's no obvious cause—this is called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC).

🚩 Signs you shouldn't ignore:
🐾 Frequent trips to the litter box
😣 Straining or crying while trying to p*e
🩸 Blood in the urine
💦 Passing only a few drops—or no urine at all
🚽 Peeing outside the litter box
👅 Constant licking of the ge***al area
🥺 Loss of appetite, vomiting, or becoming weak

🚑 EMERGENCY ALERT:
If your cat can't p*e at all, don't wait to see if they'll get better on their own. A blocked urinary tract can become life-threatening in as little as 24–48 hours.

💙 How to lower the risk:
💦 Encourage more water intake.
🥣 Include wet food if recommended by your veterinarian.
🧸 Minimize stress and provide environmental enrichment.
🚽 Keep litter boxes clean (one per cat, plus one extra).
🩺 Schedule regular veterinary checkups.

🐱 Your cat can't tell you they're in pain—but their behavior can.
If something feels off, trust your instincts and have them checked. Early treatment can make all the difference. 🩵

🚨🐶 PARVO ALERT: Protect Your Puppies!

We're seeing an increase in Canine Parvovirus (Parvo) cases in our clinic. This deadly virus commonly affects puppies and unvaccinated dogs.

🦠 Paano kumakalat ang Parvo?
• Contact sa infected na a*o
• Contact sa infected na dumi (f***s)
• Contaminated shoes, clothes, cages, food bowls, at iba pang objects

⚠️ Watch out for these signs:
❌ Walang gana kumain
❌ Pagsusuka
❌ Matinding pagtatae (minsan may dugo)
❌ Matamlay
❌ Dehydration

💉 May gamot ba?
Walang gamot na direktang pumapatay sa Parvo virus, pero early veterinary treatment (IV fluids, medications, at supportive care) can greatly improve your puppy's chance of survival.

❌ MYTH: "Home remedies lang sapat na."
✅ FACT: Walang home remedy ang kayang pumatay ng Parvo virus. Kailangan ng agarang supportive care ang kailangan
❌ MYTH: "Isang vaccine lang okay na."
✅ FACT: Kailangan makumpleto ang puppy vaccination series para magkaroon ng sapat na proteksyon.
❌ MYTH: "Indoor dog lang siya, safe na."
✅ FACT: Pwedeng maiuwi ang virus sa bahay sa pamamagitan ng sapatos, damit, o ibang contaminated objects.
