Never underestimate thread, ribbon, or string. What seems harmless can act like a saw inside the intestines, causing them to bunch up (intestinal plication shown in the photo) and even lacerate the intestinal wall.

This patient underwent emergency surgery recently after swallowing small objects but attached to a thread. The foreign material was successfully removed, and the damaged intestines were carefully repaired. Now comes the most critical part which is recovery. The next few days will determine the outcome, and we are praying this brave patient continues to heal.

If your pet develops repeated vomiting, refuses to eat, becomes lethargic, or is seen chewing or swallowing thread, ribbon, socks, or medical masks, don't wait. Seek veterinary care immediately.
