Levi, a 6-year-old male Golden Retriever, was brought to a Beastfriend clinic for an X-ray after experiencing episodes of pe**le bleeding.
Although Levi was bright, alert, and had normal vital signs and an unremarkable complete blood count, diagnostic imaging revealed an underlying urinary problem.
The X-ray showed a silica stone inside Leviโs urinary bladder. An ultrasound further revealed that the stone had a distinct flower-like or jackstone appearance, along with diffuse thickening of the bladder wall.
Levi underwent a ๐ฐ๐๐๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐บ๐, a surgical procedure in which the urinary bladder is opened to remove the stone. He was admitted for four days and received IV fluid therapy, injectable medications, and post-operative monitoring.
Several days after surgery, Levi returned to the clinic for his follow-up checkup and suture removal. This goodest boi has since recovered and was placed on a specialized diet to support his urinary health.
