People ask why I do breed loans 📋

It helps me and it helps them — I get access to genes I don't have, they get access to mine. There's a biosecurity risk, so you have to do the proper quarantine procedure. No shortcuts on that one.

I've got so much stuff sold from the raffles, but my export permit has to be renewed before any of it can ship. That's the bottleneck.

The food side of a snake room nobody films 🐀

Big fan going in for more airflow, water on the top. We ended up short for a bit and it came down to two things — escapees, and the heat.

If you're setting up feeders, overestimate what you need. That's the lesson.

Getting quail here is harder than getting snakes 🐦

We've got the quails in with them, trying to get them eating. These ones are wild caught, so it takes patience. The two males eat great. The female was doing good and now she's kind of off for a bit.

74% humidity, almost 89, and I'm the one sweating 🥵

No heat tape in here. It's just perfect for the snakes, and I think that's the whole reason everybody eats so good.

Our whole facility runs on a strip of tape and a QR code 👀

This is the tub labeling system we use across the snake breeding facility — weight, Husbandry Pro label, follicle notes, and a colour for every state. Orange is locks, yellow is eating. I can walk the racks and read the whole season off the front of the tubs.

Adapted it from the KINOVA facility after a DPR Cold Blood video. Along keeps it tighter than I do 😅

Free breeding trick if your girls aren't locking 🐍

Throw the Burmese male in with them for a bit, wait until they're about to lock, then yank him out. Works more often than it has any right to.

Watch your fingers. Obviously.

This is our Ivory het Green male — supposed to be a female, ended up male. That happens here. These outdoor cages get real airflow too, which I think is a big part of why we don't fight respiratory infections.
