🐾 ALL PETS MUST BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED:
✅ Dogs: Must be on a leash
✅ Cats: Must be inside a carrier/cage or on a secure leash and harness if appropriate
✅ Small pets must also be kept in a secure carrier or enclosure

This is to help prevent:
• Dog fights and pet aggression
• Pets escaping or getting lost
• Accidental bites or scratches
• Stress to other animals
• Any unforeseen incidents during the event

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect your pets from serious and life-threatening diseases. It helps prepare and strengthen their immune system so they can fight infections before they become severe. Instead of waiting for your pet to get sick and dealing with difficult treatments, vaccination focuses on prevention, which is always safer and more effective.

In terms of prevention vs cost, prevention is always the better choice. Vaccines such as the 4-in-1 for cats and anti-rabies vaccine are far more affordable compared to treating full-blown viral or fatal diseases. Once infection occurs, treatment may require confinement, medications, and intensive care, which can be very costly—and in some cases, even with treatment, outcomes are not guaranteed. Rabies in particular is a fatal disease once symptoms appear, making vaccination the only reliable protection.

That is why we strongly encourage pet owners to keep their pets updated with both core vaccines and anti-rabies vaccination. Protect early, prevent suffering, and save more in the long run.

Yana, a 3-year-old female Shih Tzu, has been successfully discharged after undergoing an emergency cesarean section (C-section) at the clinic.

She was presented as an emergency obstetrical case requiring immediate surgical intervention to safely deliver the puppies and protect both the mother and her litter. The procedure was successfully performed, and Yana is now stable and continuing recovery at home. 💙

A cesarean section is a surgical procedure performed when a mother dog is unable to deliver puppies normally. This is considered an emergency when prolonged labor, fetal distress, or difficulty delivering places the mother and puppies at risk.

⚠️ COMMON REASONS FOR EMERGENCY C-SECTION
• Difficulty delivering puppies (dystocia)
• Weak or absent contractions
• Large puppies or narrow birth canal
• Puppy stuck in the birth canal
• Exhaustion of the mother
• Fetal distress

Shih Tzus and other small breeds are more prone to birthing difficulties and may require emergency assistance.

Recovery includes proper wound care, medications, monitoring milk production, ensuring puppies are nursing properly, and limiting excessive activity while healing.

Regular prenatal check-ups, proper nutrition, and monitoring during pregnancy help reduce complications during delivery. Immediate veterinary attention during difficult labor can save both the mother and puppies.

Bring your pregnant pet immediately if you notice:
• Prolonged labor without puppy delivery
• Weakness or collapse
• Green or bloody discharge without puppies
• Continuous straining with no puppy produced
• Signs of severe pain or distress

Pregnancy and delivery can become emergencies quickly. Early veterinary intervention helps ensure a safer outcome for both mother and puppies.
