🐓 **BREEDING SEASON 2026 — THE SELECTED SETS ARE IN** 🐓

October is here, and our breeding pens are now active! Every bird you see here didn't just end up in the pen by chance — each one went through our own selection process before earning a spot as a breeder this season.

What we look for:
✅ Good posture and strong, upright stance
✅ Active and alert temperament — birds that forage, move, and respond well
✅ Clean genetics from our cross-breeding lines, built over multiple generations
✅ Overall vigor — no shortcuts, no weak links

This is the heart of our breeding: we don't just pair birds at random. Every set is matched deliberately — rooster to hen, line to line — as part of the regenerative native chicken system we've been building here on the farm. The goal isn't just more birds, it's *better* birds — stronger genetics, better meat quality, and lines that keep improving season after season.

Breeding season officially starts now. Excited for what this generation will bring! 🌾

🐓 COOP UPGRADE COMPLETE — Gearing Up for October Breeding Season! 🐓

Our breeding pens just got a major upgrade! 💪

We reinforced the doors with heavy-duty steel frames and tight wire mesh, added secure sliding bolt latches, and put up corrugated sheet wind/rain guards along the pen walls to keep our breeding sets dry, safe, and stress-free.

Why the investment? Because our breeding season officially kicks off this October, and we want our hens and roosters going into it with the best possible setup — protected from predators, shielded from the weather, and comfortable enough to focus on what they do best. 🐣

Better housing = healthier breeders = stronger, more productive native chicken lines for the seasons ahead.
