Race Reminders:
1. Ensure that your dog is fit, healthy, and fully vaccinated. It is strongly discouraged to take your dog into the race if they are experiencing any health issues. If in doubt always consult your vet first.
2. Dogs that are in heat, pregnant, or sickly are prohibited from this event.
3. Bringing dogs with a history of aggression toward other dogs and humans is highly discouraged.
4. Don't forget to give your dog water before, during, and after the run. During the race, you might want to bring a water bottle with a dispenser. After feeding your dog, wait at least 30 minutes before going for a run to give them time to digest. Avoid feeding them too much.
5. Please bring P**p Bags. The owner must clean up his/her pet's waste at the venue at all times.
6. Don't push your dog past its limits. Pay attention to what their body language is trying to tell you. When your dog gets tired (or shows signs of heatstroke), it will drop back behind you, start to pant heavily and switch from running to trotting. Always stop if your dog is exhausted, or you can carry them if necessary.
7. In the event of a pet health emergency or injury, please inform our marshals immediately. In case of possible heatstroke, ask for assistance and do not force your dog to drink.
8. Dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times. Do not let your dog stray far from your side. Dog leash must not be too short or too long (not more than 1.5m long).
9. All dog owners/handlers assume full responsibility for any injury and/or death of a pet or person caused by their pet while participating in this event. Dog owners/handlers certify that their pet is free from infectious diseases and parasites, and may be asked to provide the current rabies certificate or vaccination card upon entry of this event.
10. By participating in the race, the dog owner/handler hereby consent to abide by all rules and safety precautions established by the event's organizers.
11. ALL FINISHERS will receive a Finisher’s medal. The Top 1, 2, and 3 finishers will receive separate medals.
Only those who have successfully finished the Dogathon without carrying their dogs (at any point during the race) will qualify for the top 3 finishers.
*** The dog owner/handler hereby acknowledges that there are some inherent risks and dangers in the activity that could lead to damage, injury, or even animal or human death. In addition, the dog owner/handler waives and releases the race organizers, property owners, sponsors, and all race volunteers from any liability for damages or injuries to his/her pet or to him/herself as a result of the event.
