We’re beyond excited to officially introduce Dr. Kyle, who has been part of the Waves & Tails Animal Clinic family since earlier this year.

From the very beginning, Doc Kyle has shown a genuine love for small animals and an eagerness to grow in the profession. Whether it’s caring for patients in the clinic, learning from every case, or embracing every opportunity to improve his skills, his passion for veterinary medicine shines through.

His dedication doesn’t stop at our clinic doors. Recently, he participated in the Spay and Neuter Training and volunteered in the CNVR (Catch-Neuter-Vaccinate & Release) Initiative in Samal island through PVMA-SMC, helping promote responsible pet ownership and improve the welfare of community animals. His willingness to serve and continue learning reflects the kind of veterinarian he strives to become.

At Waves & Tails, we believe that great veterinary care starts with compassionate hearts, and we’re proud to have Doc Kyle growing alongside us as we continue to serve our community.

We are privileged to have been part of the veterinary care provided to two rescued feral cats through the efforts of Doc Nielsen Donato and the team of Born to Be Wild.

Feral cats may appear harmless, but when their populations grow unchecked in protected areas such as Mt. Apo, they can pose a serious threat to native wildlife. As efficient predators, they prey on birds, reptiles, small mammals, and other endemic species that play vital roles in maintaining the balance of our ecosystems. In sensitive habitats, their presence can contribute to the decline of vulnerable wildlife populations.

Responsible population management is therefore an important part of wildlife conservation. Spaying helps prevent unwanted pregnancies, reduces the spread of certain diseases, and supports efforts to control feral cat populations in ecologically significant areas.

As pet owners and animal advocates, we all have a role to play. Through responsible pet ownership, proper sterilization, and preventing pets from being abandoned, we can help protect both animal welfare and the biodiversity that makes our natural landscapes unique.

MOCHI is our FIP warrior, who has officially graduated from the 80-day treatment protocol. Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a serious viral disease caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus and was once considered almost always fatal. However, advances in treatment have given many cats a second chance at life. The journey requires consistent medication for around 80–84 days, regular monitoring, and strong commitment from the owners. Completing this treatment is a huge milestone, and seeing our patient reach this point healthy and strong is something we celebrate with so much gratitude. 🐱✨

Baside Mochi is our little parvo survivor, FORKY 🐢
Parvovirus can be a life-threatening disease, especially for puppies, but with timely medical care, supportive treatment, and the determination of this brave pup, recovery is possible. Seeing this little one healthy and happy today is truly a moment worth celebrating. πŸ₯³
