14 December 2024 | Marine Battalion Landing Team-5 facilitated the ceremony on the Turn-over of Loose Fi****ms and Ammunition as part of the Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) Management Program of ASPIRE (Assistance for Security, Peace, Integration, and Recovery for Advancing Human Security in BARMM) and the Pledge of Commitment Signing presided by BGEN ROMULO D QUEMADO II PN(M), Commander, 1st Marine Brigade together with Hon Datu Lester S Sinsuat, Mayor of Datu Odin Sinsuat and LTCOL LESTER MARK C BAKY PN(M), Commanding Officer, MBLT-5 at Badak Gymnasium, Barangay Badak, Datu Odin Sinsuat.
The following are the turned-over 19 loose fi****ms composed of; one (1) cal. 50 Browning Machine Gun (M2), one (1) Rocket Propelled Gr***de Launcher (RPG), two (2) 7.62 rifle, one (1) 7.62 sniper rifle, one (1) 7.62 rifle (M14), five (5) 12 gauge shotguns, one (1) 5.56 rifle, one (1) cal.30 carbine, one (1) cal.22 rifle, two (2) 40mm M79 gr***de launcher, one (1) cal.45 pistol (M1911 C**t), one (1) 9mm pistol (MKIV, C**t), and one (1) cal.38 revolver. Assorted magazines and ammunition were also surrendered to this unit.
The activity was also attended by the Provincial Director of Maguindanao del Norte Police Office, PCOL JOEL S ESTARIS; Focal, SALW Program Project Development Officer, OPAPRU, Ms. Sittie Sahara Kasan; Commanding Officer, 6CMO BN, LTC RODEN R ORBON MI (GSC) PA; G7 6ID/JTFC, COL REY C RICO GSC (INF) PA; Deputy Regional Director, NICA-BARMM, Allan Hencel U Campus; and six Coastal Barangay Chairmen of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
MBLT-5 is fully committed to achieving the core objectives of the Normalization Process. In close cooperation with the OPAPRU, JNC and other relevant government agencies, we will continue supporting the SALW Management Program to achieve lasting peace and stability in BARMM.
