September, here you go again.

Very early morning today, Mama Ket has joined her daughter Pfeiffer in animal heaven 🌈❤️‍🩹

Last night I knew she was nearing the end, and it broke me. I recorded this video while talking to her so I could share it with my partner, and now with you. I want to share with you my love for my rescues and how much it hurts every time I lose one. Rescuer life is not for the weak. You start to think your heart will grow stronger and more accepting, but the truth is we go through this pain again and again.

Mama Ket and her daughters Pfeiffer and Sobelle were strays I fostered last December for TNVR. The vet found Mama Ket already had FIV, and her daughters likely got it too. This virus is common in outdoor cats and slowly weakens their immune system.

For months I did everything to keep them healthy. Pfeiffer’s FIV caused her liver to fail. Mama Ket’s immune system grew weaker and weaker. She was a brave fighter who even outlived Greg Marie and Pfeiffer, but today she chose rest. She is no longer suffering.

Her health was never steady. Some days she was okay, then she would stop eating. We tried our best, but in the end she needed peace.

Last night I told her it was okay to let go. She had been so strong for so long. Until her last breath, I kept her warm, offered food, and gave her medicine. She rested peacefully and is now with Pfeiffer and Greg Marie.

Mama Ket, you were a wonder. I’m sorry the world was not kinder to you. I’m sorry we found you late. I hope we made your last months a little softer. You were one of a kind. You deserve this rest. Until we meet again.

It's with the heaviest heart that I'm sharing this. Our sweet Pfeiffer has crossed the rainbow bridge 💔

In less than two hours after being admitted, she decided it was time to rest forever. At noon, I got a text from the vet saying they were trying to revive her. By 12:30, she was gone. Just like that.

We only noticed she seemed off last night. And today, she left us. Her bloodwork showed liver failure and severe jaundice. It all happened so fast, too fast.

I hate how cats hide their pain until it's too late. They suffer in silence, and we're left with the guilt of not knowing sooner.

As a rescuer with over 20 cats at home, it's not always easy to catch every little sign. But this is a painful reminder. Please, check on your furbabies. Watch closely. Love them extra hard. Because sometimes, we only have hours.

Rest easy, Pfeiffer. You were so loved. 🤍🕊️

somehow knew something bad will happen this September 💔

Pfeiffer was showing signs of lethargy last night and now her case is getting worse. Based on her lab results, she's currently experiencing liver failure 💔 She's currently admitted in the hospital now and we just hope she will still survive this.

Fury is at it again with his new thing, the 'trapped in or on something' 24-hour challenge.

Okay, hear us out. First, Fury is an indoor cat. Second, he only escaped because one of our other cats has mastered the art of window-opening. And where did that land him this time? Stuck in a tree for a full 24 hours.

He's been rescued now, thank goodness. But his meowmy? She's still recovering, because apparently 24 hours of pure panic wasn't on her weekly schedule.
