🔬 CAN YOU SPOT IT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE?

What looks like an ordinary skin problem may have a microscopic cause.

In one of our patients, microscopic examination revealed Demodex mites—tiny parasites that live in hair follicles and can cause canine demodicosis when they multiply excessively.

🐾 Common Signs:
• Hair loss or thinning coat
• Red, irritated skin
• Small bumps or scabs
• Darkening or thickening of the skin
• Itching, especially when secondary infection is present
• Unpleasant skin odor in more severe cases

🩺 Treatment
Treatment depends on the severity of the condition and may include veterinary-prescribed anti-parasitic medication, treatment of secondary skin infections, and regular follow-up examinations to monitor recovery.

🔬 The right diagnosis leads to the right treatment. A skin problem may be more than what meets the eye—sometimes, the answer is right under the microscope.

📍 Visit Noah’s Ark Pet Wellness Center for proper skin assessment and diagnostic testing.

🩻 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆

A pet accidentally swallowed a sewing needle, turning an everyday household item into a potentially life-threatening foreign body.

🩻 As seen in the X-ray, the sewing needle is clearly visible in the upper abdominal area as the long, thin radiopaque object.

Because sharp foreign objects can cause internal injury, perforation, and other serious complications, prompt veterinary intervention is crucial.

The patient underwent 𝗚𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘆 for the safe surgical retrieval of the swallowed sewing needle.

⚠️ Pet-proof your home. Keep sewing needles, pins, threads, and other sharp or small objects securely out of your pet’s reach.

If you suspect your pet has swallowed a foreign object, seek veterinary care immediately.

🦠 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗩𝗢 𝗩𝗜𝗥𝗨𝗦: 𝗛𝗨𝗪𝗔𝗚 𝗜𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚-𝗕𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗔!

🚨 𝗠𝗴𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗼:
• Matinding pagsusuka
• Pagtatae, minsan may dugo
• Panghihina at kawalan ng gana kumain
• Dehydration
• Lagnat o mababang body temperature

🦠 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝗸𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗵𝗮?

Tandaan: Prevention is better than treatment. ❤️🐶
