🐃 Wallowing ng Kalabaw sa Dairy Farming: Mabuti at Di Mabuti

✅ Mga Mabuting Epekto (Pros)
• Pampalamig ng katawan – Dahil hindi gaanong nagpapawis ang kalabaw, nakakatulong ang putikan para hindi sila ma-heat stress.
• Proteksyon sa balat – Ang putik ay parang natural na “shield” laban sa langaw, garapata, at init ng araw.
• Mas komportable ang hayop – Mas masaya at kalmado ang kalabaw kapag nakakagawa ng natural na ugali nila.
• Mas maganda ang pagpaparami – Kapag hindi stressed, mas malinaw ang init (estrus) at mas mataas ang tsansa na magbuntis.

❌ Mga Di Mabuting Epekto (Cons)
• Kaligtasan ng gatas – Maaaring madumihan ang suso at gatas, kaya mas mataas ang panganib ng mastitis.
• Sakit at parasito – Ang maruming tubig ay puwedeng pagmulan ng leptospirosis, bulate sa atay, at iba pa.
• Dagdag trabaho at gastos – Kailangan ng lupa, tubig, at pag-maintain ng wallowing pond.
• Kontaminasyon ng pagkain – Kung malapit sa pakainan, puwedeng madumihan ang feeds.

👉 Tip para sa mga Magsasaka:
• Mas mabuti kung may kontroladong wallowing area o kaya sprinkler/shower system.
• Huwag ilapit ang wallowing area sa milking parlor o pakainan.
• Siguraduhing may maayos na daluyan at malinis na tubig para iwas sakit.
