Today, we remember Zoey — the beloved son of Lorah, a loyal companion, and a fighter with the gentlest soul.

When Zoey first came into our lives, no one realized that “Zoey” was usually known as a girl’s name. But over time, it became clear that the name fit him perfectly — unique, lovable, and unforgettable, just like he was.

At only three years old, Zoey faced one of the hardest battles a dog could endure: distemper. Many feared the worst, yet Zoey proved stronger than anyone imagined. He survived when others thought he wouldn’t, and he continued to live not just for months, but for five more beautiful years. Through every challenge, he showed courage, resilience, and an incredible will to stay beside the people who loved him most.

For eight years, Zoey filled our home with companionship, comfort, and memories that can never be replaced. He was there during ordinary days that became special simply because he was part of them. His presence brought warmth, his loyalty brought security, and his love asked for nothing in return.

Though kidney failure eventually took his strength, it could never take away the life he lived or the love he gave. Zoey’s story is not only one of loss, but of survival, devotion, and the quiet way animals leave paw prints on our hearts forever.

Today, we say goodbye with heavy hearts, but also with gratitude — gratitude for every year, every moment, every wag of his tail, and every memory he leaves behind.

Run free now, Zoey.
You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
