The most significant and deadly type of toad in Bulacan, Philippines, that is poisonous to dogs is the Cane Toad (Rhinella marina), also known locally as "kamprag," "bullfrog," or "palakang-tubo".

If your dog licks a toad, you must act fast before the toxins fully absorb into their bloodstream.
The most critical step (first aid) is to wash the toxins out of the mouth. Use a wet cloth or a gentle stream of water from a hose or faucet. Head to the animal clinic because toad poisoning is a true emergency.

Curiosity led this Shih-Tzu to lick a toad near the garden, causing her to instantly foam at the mouth as toxins absorbed into her gums. Within minutes, she collapsed into a violent seizure, prompting her owner to rush her to our clinic.
She's under observation as of the moment.
