21/01/2026

Deworming is crucial for dogs and cats to eliminate harmful internal parasites (like roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms) that steal nutrients, cause severe illness (anemia, vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, blocked intestines), stunt growth in young animals, and can even be transmitted to humans (zoonotic), making regular vet-guided deworming essential for overall pet health and family safety.

📝Why it's important for your pet's health:
🐾Nutrient Deprivation: Worms consume essential nutrients, leading to malnutrition, poor coat, and low energy.
🐾Serious Illness: Infestations can cause vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, severe anemia (especially in kittens), and a pot-bellied appearance.
🐾Stunted Growth: Young puppies and kittens are particularly vulnerable and can suffer from abnormal development.
🐾Life-Threatening Complications: Severe cases, especially hookworm infections in kittens, can be fatal.
🐾Hidden Dangers: You might not see worms, even if your pet is infested, making f***l exams important.

📝Why it's important for your family's health (Zoonotic Risk):
🐾Human Transmission: Many common intestinal parasites, like roundworms, can be passed from pets to humans, especially children.
🐾Health Risks: In humans, these can cause skin issues, blindness, or other serious health problems.
🐾Indoor Pets Are Not Immune: Fleas, contaminated soil, or even bringing eggs into the house on shoes can infect indoor pets and their families.

📝Key Takeaways:
🐾Start Early: Puppies and kittens need frequent deworming from a young age.
🐾Regularity: Adult pets need routine deworming (often quarterly or as advised by your vet).
🐾Vet Guidance: Always use veterinarian-approved products for safety and effectiveness, as natural remedies aren't always sufficient or safe.

✨Meet LIGHT : Our patient recovered from blood infection ( EHRLICHIOSIS ) ✨🥰

A heartfelt thanks to Ma'am Jheycel Lagunting for trusting our treatments and services for light's recovery. 🥰

WHAT IS EHRLICHIA?

Ehrlichia in dogs is a serious, tick-borne bacterial infection that attacks white blood cells, causing fever, lethargy, bleeding, and anemia, progressing through acute, subclinical (no signs), and severe chronic stages that can be fatal. Transmitted by infected ticks, primarily the brown dog tick, it damages platelets and immune cells, leading to symptoms like nosebleeds, bruising, swollen lymph nodes, joint pain, and lameness, requiring prompt treatment with antibiotics like doxycycline.

📝Common signs and symptoms
🐾Fever, lethargy, depression, anorexia (poor appetite)
🐾Weight loss, lameness, joint pain
🐾Bleeding tendencies (nosebleeds, bruising, blood in urine)
🐾Swollen lymph nodes, enlarged spleen
🐾Neurological issues (in severe cases)

📝Treatment & Prevention
🐾Treatment:
Doxycycline is the antibiotic of choice and can be effective if caught early.
🐾Prevention:
Regular tick prevention is crucial, as the disease can be life-threatening.

✨Meet B2: Our CASTRATED dog 🐾✨

📝Facts about CASTRATION

For Pets (Dogs and Cats)
✅Population Control: Prevents unwanted litters and reduces the number of animals in shelters.

✅Health Benefits:
🐾Eliminates the risk of testicular cancer.
🐾Reduces the incidence of certain prostate problems and hormone-related tumors.
🐾May contribute to a longer life expectancy in general for castrated pets.

✅Behavioral Benefits:
🐾Decreases roaming behavior in search of mates (roaming is reduced in about 90% of dogs).
🐾Reduces certain forms of aggression, especially towards other males.
🐾Minimizes unwanted behaviors like urine/scent marking indoors, mounting, and excessive yowling or barking related to mating urges.
🐾Makes the animal generally calmer, more docile, and easier to handle.
🐾Reduces the risk of injuries and disease transmission (like Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) from fighting.

‎Meet RUBY and MINA: Our Feline calicivirus SURVIVOR ✨😊

‎a heartfelt thanks to Ma'am Kimberly Menendez for trusting FVS - Bayambang ✨😊

‎What Is Feline Calicivirus?

‎Feline calicivirus is a highly contagious virus that primarily affects a cat’s respiratory system and mouth. It belongs to the Caliciviridae family, which also includes Norovirus, a well-known human gastrointestinal virus. While many infections are mild, some strains can cause severe symptoms, including pneumonia and joint inflammation. The virus is especially concerning in multi-cat environments such as shelters, rescues, and veterinary clinics, where it can spread rapidly.

‎Prevention strategies for FELINE CALICIVIRUS (FCV)

‎🐾Vaccination
‎Vaccination is the most effective preventative measure, though it may not entirely prevent infection, it significantly reduces the severity of the disease and duration of symptoms.

‎🐾Hygiene and Disinfection
‎FCV is resistant to many common household cleaners, making proper disinfection crucial.

‎Effective Cleaners: Use disinfectants with proven efficacy against FCV, such as a diluted bleach solution (1 part bleach to 32 parts water) or products based on potassium peroxymonosulfate or accelerated hydrogen peroxide.

‎Cleaning Routine: Regularly clean and disinfect all surfaces and objects the cat contacts, including food and water bowls, litter boxes, bedding, and toys. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling infected cats or their belongings.

‎Personal Hygiene: If you handle multiple cats (e.g., in a shelter setting), consider changing clothes and shoes after contact with an infected cat before interacting with healthy ones.

‎🐾Environmental Management
‎Limit Exposure: Keeping cats indoors and minimizing contact with unknown or stray cats reduces the risk of transmission.

‎Quarantine New Cats: Isolate any new cat entering a multi-cat household for at least one to two weeks to monitor for signs of illness before introduction to existing pets.

‎Isolate Sick Cats: Immediately isolate any cat showing symptoms of FCV from healthy cats to prevent further spread.
‎Reduce Stress: Maintaining a stable, low-stress environment supports a strong immune system.

‎Regular Veterinary Care: Schedule routine check-ups to monitor your cat's overall health and keep vaccinations up-to-date.

Meet POTPOT : our PARVO SURVIVOR ❤️🐾

A heartfelt thanks to ZACARIAS FAMILY for trusting FVS - Bayambang ✨❤️

Prevention Strategies for CANINE PARVOVIRUS.
‎1. Vaccination (Most Important):
‎ 🐾Puppies: Start around 6-8 weeks old with a series of shots (core vaccine/DAPP), typically given every 3-4 weeks until they are 16-20 weeks old.

‎🐾Boosters: A booster is needed one year later, then every 1-3 years for adults, depending on lifestyle and vet recommendation.

‎2. Limit Exposure for Puppies:
‎🐾Keep unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated puppies away from public places like dog parks, pet stores, and kennels where the virus may be present.

‎🐾Avoid contact with dogs showing signs of illness.

‎3. Hygiene & Disinfection:
‎🐾Clean up f***s immediately and dispose of it properly.
‎Use disinfectants known to kill the virus (like bleach solutions) on contaminated areas in your home.

‎4. Controlled Socialization:
‎🐾Introduce your puppy to new environments and dogs gradually in safe, controlled settings, like puppy classes after consulting your vet.

‎5. Breeding Dogs:
‎🐾Ensure pregnant dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations to pass protective antibodies to their pups.
‎🐾Why It's Critical
‎Parvovirus is highly contagious and potentially fatal, especially for puppies whose natural immunity from their mother fades before their own immune system is strong enough. Vaccination is the most effective and inexpensive way to protect them from this severe disease.
