I just wanted to share the experience on our first litter of english bulldogs. From choosing the quality “STUD” (male dog) for artificial inseminations. after that is the observation of our female dog or “DAM” (mother dog) if it took pregnancy within the first three weeks after the insemination. We took her for a pregnancy test and ultrasound with the vet giving us an idea of how many should be expected on the litter, we started giving our female the proper nutrition with multivitamins and quality food for the puppies to gain the right nutrients they need during their time being inside the mother dogs womb. On the expected due dates of our female we were very cautious cause bulldogs doesn’t usually give birth naturally, and if you’re a lucky breeder very few female bulldogs can still do it but with higher risk of puppies getting stuck on their way out of the womb. So a C-section was scheduled on the due dates. Our female gave birth to four beautiful and healthy puppies, no born puppies are cleft palate or cleft lipped. three females and one lucky male that already pooped inside the womb. the vet had to clean and disinfect our dam’s tummy along with her male puppy. And thank God it got better. With the puppies out, our DAM started producing colostrum milk for her puppies to feed. With every 2hours interval, sleepless nights and stressful days started. The puppies are needed to be stimulated before and after feeding with distilled warm water on cottons. By noontime the puppies are starting to cry due to hot climate condition, so we had to put them on a cold room for them to breathe easier. Twice a day we do a laundry for the puppies beddings. On the puppies 3rd week, we introduced them into puppy food and quality milk replacement. And yes, it was an adventure. Fun, exciting, tiring and stressful. Breeding And producing healthy and quality on this breed is one of the real commitments and hardwork on the dog world. 🐶🥰
