🌍 IVSA Philippines × IVSA South Africa
Across continents, connected by the same passion. 🇵🇭🤝🇿🇦

On October 17, 2026, IVSA Philippines and IVSA South Africa come together for an online cultural exchange, sharing insights into their respective countries’ history, culture, tourist destinations, wildlife, and veterinary practices. The exchange highlights the unique characteristics of each country while allowing veterinary students to learn from one another and gain a broader perspective on veterinary medicine around the world.

Building international connections through cultural exchange, shared knowledge, and a common passion for animal health and welfare.

FERAL MAY SEEM WILD YET THEY NEEDED YOUR PROTECTION AND CARE

They may appear wild at first glance, but with patience and kindness, they can thrive. As we celebrate National Feral Cat Day, let's be aware of how important it is to protect and support the community cats around us. Just like any other animal, they deserve protection, safety, respect and humane treatment.

National Feral Cat Day is a reminder that feral cats are a valuable part of our global community and they deserve to live without fear.

Rather than subjecting them to harsh treatment or isolation, let's create a community with compassion over fear and protection over cruelty.

KAYA MO. KINAYA MO. KAKAYANIN MO PALAGI!

As midterm exam week finally started, IVSA-ASU and its Standing Committee on Wellness conducted a simple initiative the "MOTIBITES." A small gesture, but can truly make someone's day and make our vet mates feel motivated for the exams.

MOTIBITES is a simple initiative to give courage and motivation to our fellow vetmates, reminding them that efforts can always lead to progress and that those late-night review sessions will definitely be worth it.

This initiative also reminds everyone that studying for exams goes hand and hand with maintaining a healthy body and mind. Let's prioritise our studies while also prioritising our well-being.

Padayon lang, future vets! Kaya niyo yan, at kakayanin niyo Palagi!

I like to move it, move it. You like to move it, move it. WE LIKE TO MOVE IT!

On today's World Animal Day, the IVSA ASU community proudly MOVES together, united by our goals to promote and ensure improved welfare standards, compassionate care, and to be the voice for the voiceless.

Whether it’s advancing veterinary care for domestic pets and supporting conservation efforts for wildlife, and advocating for animal welfare, our commitment bridges every habitat and species. May we all keep viewing the world through their eyes, may we all keep connecting science with empathy, may we all keep working towards a better and safer world for all species!

To protect, heal and honor all the co-inhabitants of this Earth today and each and every day. Here’s to honoring every heartbeat, great and small, today and every day.

As we move forward from a month that reminded us to look out for one another and into one centered on wellness, let’s remember to look out for ourselves, too.

With midterms approaching and our schedules getting busier, it’s easy to get so used to the rush that we forget to pause. But you don’t always have to keep going. Indi kinahanglan pirmi magpadayon kung kapoy na.

Pause. Breathe. Pahuway anay. 🤍

To every veterinary student and future veterinary practitioner, taking a break doesn’t mean falling behind. Prioritizing your well-being matters, too.

The work will still be there. Matapos man na.

Because caring for yourself is also part of caring for the people and animals we hope to serve.

Pahuway anay. You deserve the pause, too. 🐾
