🐱 Another Life-Changing Surgery for Toby! 🐱
Toby had been suffering from recurrent urinary blockage and underwent catheterization twice, but the blockage kept coming back. To give him a better quality of life and reduce the risk of future urinary obstruction, his owner decided to proceed with a Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery.
Today, Toby is recovering well and receiving post-operative laser therapy to help reduce inflammation, promote healing, and improve comfort. ❤️
📌 Signs of urinary blockage in cats: ✔ Straining to urinate
✔ Frequent trips to the litter box
✔ Crying while urinating
✔ Blood in the urine
✔ Little to no urine output
⚠️ Urinary blockage is a medical emergency and can become life-threatening if not treated immediately.
We're grateful to Toby's owner for trusting us with his care. Wishing Toby a smooth and speedy recovery! 🙏

🩸 Preventive Check-Up Before Vaccination Saved the Day 🐶
Jessa, a 4-year-old female dog, came to our clinic for routine vaccination. Because she had a previous history of blood parasite infection, her owner wisely requested a complete blood workup before proceeding.
The results revealed: 🔹 Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) 🔹 Positive blood parasite test
Although she appeared clinically stable, vaccinating a dog with an active blood parasite infection and low platelets may not be ideal. Thanks to early screening, we were able to detect the problem and recommend appropriate treatment before vaccination.
✅ This case highlights the importance of pre-vaccination health assessment, especially for pets with a history of tick-borne diseases.
Early detection means better treatment outcomes and safer vaccination planning.
Thank you for trusting Balagtas Animal Clinic and Grooming Center with Jessa's care. ❤️🐾

Vaccination was postponed pending treatment and recovery of platelet count. 🐕💉

12 HOURS IN LABOR. MOM AND PUPPIES SAVED. ❤️🐶
This mother dog was brought to our clinic after being in labor for almost 12 hours with no successful delivery. To make the case even more challenging, her blood work revealed a low platelet count, increasing the risk of bleeding during surgery.
Despite the risks, our team carefully proceeded with an emergency Cesarean section (C-section). Through meticulous surgical technique and close monitoring, we were able to safely deliver 4 healthy puppies and stabilize their mother.
Every emergency case reminds us how important timely veterinary care can be. Delaying treatment could have put both the mother and her puppies at serious risk.
🐾 Mom is now recovering well.
🐾 Puppies are nursing and receiving supportive care.
🐾 We will continue to monitor both mother and babies closely.
Thank you to the fur parents for trusting our team during this critical situation.

“Tiny fighter ❤️
This newborn puppy needed immediate oxygen therapy and gentle stimulation between the nose and upper lip to help support breathing and heartbeat.
Moments like this remind us how fragile newborn lives are — and how every second counts.
Praying for this little warrior’s strength. 🐾🙏”

“Low platelet count made this case very risky, but due to severe pyometra and developing sepsis, emergency surgery became the only chance to save her life.
With careful monitoring, stabilization, and immediate surgical intervention, the infected uterus was successfully removed.
Some cases cannot wait — delaying treatment could mean losing the patient. Early detection and consultation are very important. 🩺🐾”
Or a more emotional/professional version:
“Battling both pyometra and blood parasite infection, this patient had dangerously low platelets, making surgery high-risk.
But because sepsis was already developing, emergency surgery was necessary to fight for her life.
These are the moments where timing matters most.
Not every critical patient can wait.

“From severe bloody diarrhea caused by blood parasite infection with very low platelet count and kidney disease… to finally eating well again and going home. 🐾
Chase showed signs of weakness, bloody stool, and poor appetite during confinement. After continuous monitoring, medications, supportive care, and kidney prescription diet, Chase is now much brighter and eating on his own.
He will continue treatment for his blood parasite and kidney condition at home. Thank you for trusting our team with Chase’s recovery. 💙”

🦠 Pinna (Ear Flap) Alopecia – Fungal Infection Case
Hair loss on the ear (pinna) is not always just simple shedding — it can be a sign of fungal infection (dermatophytosis / ringworm).
🔍 What we observed: • Localized hair loss on the ear flap
• Mild scaling/crusting
• Lesions highlighted under UV light (Wood’s lamp)
⚠️ Common causes of pinnal alopecia: • Fungal infection (ringworm)
• Mites (mange)
• Allergies
• Hormonal imbalance
🦠 Why fungal infection is important: • Can spread to other pets
• Zoonotic – can be transmitted to humans
• Needs proper diagnosis (skin scraping, fungal culture, or Wood’s lamp exam)
💊 Treatment includes: • Antifungal medications (topical ± oral)
• Medicated baths
• Environmental disinfection
📌 Reminder to fur parents: If you notice patchy hair loss, redness, or scaling on your pet’s ears, don’t ignore it. Early treatment prevents spread and speeds up recovery.

👁️ CORNEAL ULCER IN DOG – EARLY DETECTION SAVES VISION
This patient was presented with cloudy eye and discomfort. Upon examination, a corneal ulcer was confirmed using a fluorescein stain — the green glow highlights damage on the corneal surface.
⚠️ What is a corneal ulcer?
A corneal ulcer is a wound or defect on the surface of the eye. It can worsen quickly and may lead to infection, rupture, or permanent blindness if untreated.
🐾 Common signs to watch for: • Cloudy or bluish eye
• Excessive tearing or discharge
• Squinting / eye kept closed
• Sensitivity to light
• Rubbing or pawing at the eye
💉 Treatment started: ✔️ Antibiotic eye drops
✔️ Lubricating eye drops
✔️ Supportive medications
✔️ Close monitoring and follow-up
📌 Important reminder:
Eye problems should NEVER be ignored. What may look like a simple irritation can progress rapidly into a serious condition.
📅 Early consultation = better outcome
If your pet shows any signs of eye discomfort, have them checked immediately.
