🌍✨ Safe and Sound Cities (S2Cities) is a global movement empowering young people to help shape safer, more inclusive, and youth-friendly cities. 💡🏙️

Here in the Philippines, only two cities are currently part of the S2Cities programme: Baguio and Naga. 🇵🇭 We’re humbled and honored to be among them, working alongside local leaders to amplify youth voices.

Through this initiative, youth from different parts of the world are given the tools, platforms, and support to raise issues that matter, like urban safety, mental health, and well-being.

And guess what? 👏 Young changemakers from Safe and Sound were brought all the way to the World Urban Forum in Cairo to represent their ideas on a global stage! 🎤🌐 Their voices were heard by international leaders, proving that youth innovations have a place in shaping the future of our cities.

Because a city that listens to its youth… is a city that thrives. 💛

🎥 𝙏𝙃𝙍𝙊𝙒𝘽𝘼𝘾𝙆: 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙑𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨, 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙬-𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙚𝙩 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙠 🐾

Before the fences went up, young volunteers shared their dream for a space where both people and pets could thrive. For them, the pet park isn’t just about animals, it’s about creating a safe, inclusive, and healing environment that supports mental and physical health, encourages empathy, and fosters community connection. 💚

As we look back on these early hopes, we’re also looking ahead. A proposed ordinance aimed at making the pet park more sustainable and youth-driven is in the works—stay tuned for updates next month. 👀✨

✨ 𝙎𝙣𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮’𝙨 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙚𝙩 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝘾𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙋𝙖𝙬𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖 🐾

We were honored to be invited as a guest judge for the fun and fabulous pet fashion show. 🦭

The caravan provided a range of free pet services including:
💈 Basic grooming
💊 Deworming
💉 5-in-1 and anti-rabies vaccinations
👨‍⚕️ Veterinary consultations
🧴 Mange (gudgud) treatment

There were also exciting freebies and products from generous sponsors who made the day even more special.

A portion of the proceeds and dog food sponsorships were donated to Furvent Animal Rescue and Advocacy Sanctuary, helping support the care and rescue of animals in need.

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved museum cat, MKat/Mcat. A gentle presence in our halls and a quiet guardian of our exhibitions, she brought comfort and joy to all who met her. May she now rest peacefully with Sir Del, one of the first who loved and spoiled her dearly.

Thank you, MKat, for the warmth you shared with us. You will always be part of the Museo Kordilyera family. 🐾🤍

On May 26, 2025, Sulong Bayan visited Furvent Animal Sanctuary to help prepare for the rainy season. Our team set up used campaign tarps as tolda, installed a shade for the roaming area, and assisted with tasks like gravel transfer and organizing the space. 💪

Thank you to Safe and Sound Cities for lending us the S2Cities Mobile Youth Hub, and to all the volunteers who showed up and put in the work. Your time and effort truly made a difference. 🙏🏻
