🐶🍒 Cherry Eye in Dogs: What Every Furparent Should Know?

Have you noticed a red, swollen, or round mass in the corner of your dog’s eye? 👀🐾 It could be Cherry Eye.

Cherry Eye happens when the gland of the third eyelid becomes displaced and appears as a red, fleshy lump. While it may look alarming, early veterinary evaluation is important to protect your pet’s eye health and prevent complications. 🩺❤️

✨ Common signs:
• Red or pink lump in the inner corner of the eye
• Eye redness or irritation
• Excessive tearing
• Pawing or rubbing the eye
• Swelling or discomfort

Treatment depends on the condition of the eye and may require surgical correction to properly reposition and preserve the tear-producing gland.

🐾 Don’t ignore changes in your pet’s eyes. If you notice a red lump or unusual swelling, have your furbaby checked by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

🚨 PYOMETRA IN FEMALE DOGS: A LIFE-THREATENING CONDITION YOU SHOULD NOT IGNORE 🐶❤️‍🩹

Did you know that an unspayed female dog can develop PYOMETRA, a serious and potentially fatal infection of the uterus?

Pyometra commonly occurs after a heat cycle and can progress rapidly to sepsis, kidney damage, shock, and even death if left untreated.

🔎 Watch out for these warning signs:
• Pus-like or foul-smelling vaginal discharge
• Loss of appetite
• Lethargy or weakness
• Increased thirst and urination
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Swollen or painful abdomen
• Fever—or sometimes dangerously low body temperature
• Collapse in severe cases
