Very wrong desisyon

The New Zealand government has officially added feral cats to its Predator Free 2050 program announcing a country-wide target to eradicate feral cats by 2050 to protect native wildlife. Conservation Minister Tama Potaka described feral cats as “stone-cold killers,” citing their destruction of birds, bats, lizards and insects across forests, farms, and islands. The move follows a public consultation in which over 90% of respondents supported stronger feral-cat control measures. The plan excludes domestic pets, focusing solely on wild (feral) populations, and promises funding and coordinated eradication efforts nationwide.

Just discovered something amazing happening on the Greek island of Syros. There’s a cat rescue project that offers free accommodation to volunteers who help care for rescued kittens and stray cats. You stay on a beautiful Cycladic island while looking after feeding stations and giving the cats some much-needed attention. It’s a genuine work exchange and it actually helps the island’s huge stray cat population. If you love animals and want a meaningful escape this is such a lovely opportunity.

Every animal—no matter how small, scared, or unseen—deserves kindness, patience, and a safe place to simply exist.

When someone chooses cruelty, the damage doesn’t end in that moment.
It echoes through a life that never asked to suffer, and through a world that becomes a little colder each time we stay silent.

Protecting animals is not just about loving our pets.
It’s about standing up for every creature who has no voice, no defense, and no way to escape harm on their own.

The more we speak up, the more we educate, the more we refuse to look away…
the closer we get to a world where compassion wins over cruelty.

Real change begins with ordinary people choosing to care.
Choosing to protect.
Choosing to be the difference. 🐾💛

My boyfriend was driving, his mind elsewhere, when he saw a tiny movement on the roadside. It wasn't a piece of trash, not a dead leaf: it was a small ball of tabby fur, terrified and alone, risking its life every second on the edge of that relentless road. He slammed on the brakes, stopped the car in an emergency, and ran.

He picked up the kitten, and he came back to the car with a pounding heart, holding the little creature wrapped in a towel. This instant, captured inside the car, is the summary of everything he is. His face is lowered towards the kitten, whispering sweet words to it, a kiss on the top of its little head. The kitten, initially frozen by fear, finally tipped into total surrender, its gaze lifted toward its savior, full of absolute trust.

This wasn't just a rescue; it was a scene of pure and instant love. My boyfriend found a heart on the road, and that heart immediately chose him as its refuge. This kitten, snatched from the cruelty of the asphalt and abandonment, feels the warmth, the reassuring scent, and the strength of this embrace. Its small, bright eyes, lifted towards the face of its hero, say thank you, say trust, and say "I am yours." It is the very essence of the connection between human and animal.

Today, he is home with us. He is the symbol of spontaneous goodness. The fact that he was found on the road indicates a brutal abandonment, a betrayal that neither he nor we will forget. But fear is now replaced by purring, the powerful vibrations of a body that has realized it is finally safe.

We have a new family member. This little tabby is the most unexpected and precious gift. My boyfriend, by making the gesture to stop and commit, has once again proven the nobility of his soul. We will love him, care for him, and give him the best of homes. His journey on the road is over, and his journey into our hearts is just beginning.

The Cowardice of the Roadside Dump
I address those who threw this small cat onto a road, a place of mortal danger. Your selfishness nearly cost this innocent life!

The road is a place for vehicles, not for animals. Your decision to get rid of him in the most cowardly and dangerous way imaginable demonstrates a stunning lack of humanity. You preferred the anonymity of speed over the responsibility of calling a shelter.

A kitten is a fragile life. To leave him on the pavement is to condemn him to a brutal end, whether under wheels or through hunger and fear. But your cowardice met my boyfriend's decency and courage.

He is saved now. He will grow into a magnificent cat, full of affection, proving that even the harshest betrayal cannot extinguish an animal's capacity to trust and love again. He is the embodiment of resilience, and his savior, the embodiment of kindness

They have nothing in common.

Nothing—except the most important thing: love.

The large, imposing Maine C**n is Magnus. The small, all-white one is Kiwi. When I adopted them, it was separately. A few months apart.

Magnus was majestic, calm, almost regal. A true living-room feline, with a confident walk and piercing eyes.

Kiwi, on the other hand, was… something else. Found in a cardboard box near a dumpster, trembling, eyes half-shut, tongue hanging out, and a clumsy gait that revealed a neurological issue.

They told me he'd probably need care his whole life. That he might never play like a “normal” cat. That he’d be slow. Different.

And yet… I said yes.

I remember the day I brought Kiwi home. Magnus looked at him with suspicion. A look that said: “What is this weird thing that can’t even walk straight?”

I was afraid. That Magnus would reject him. That he wouldn’t tolerate him.

But nature has its mysteries.

Little by little, Magnus got closer. He stayed nearby, silent, while Kiwi tried to drink without shaking. He slept next to him, as if to protect him.

He tolerated the cuddles, the clumsiness, the accidental bumps. He didn’t growl when Kiwi climbed on him to warm up. He would simply lay a paw on him, gently. As if to say, “It’s okay. I’m here.”

Today, they’re inseparable.

Despite his condition, Kiwi has found a sense of stability in Magnus. He imitates him, follows him everywhere, rubs up against him, as if drawing strength from him. And Magnus has become a patient big brother. A rock.

They don’t come from the same world.

One comes from comfort, the other from abandonment.

One is strong, the other fragile.

But together, they make the perfect pair.

This photo tells their story. Magnus, looking slightly unimpressed, tolerating everything with love. And Kiwi, tongue out, snuggled up to him, unable to hide his happiness.

There is nothing more beautiful than the love between two beings who were never meant to meet—but somehow, miraculously, found each other.

And never let go.
