Arrieros history in Perú is still alive! These llameros walked from Huancavelica to Lunahuana on ancient trade trails, after 60 years of nobody having traveled the old route. Why do you ride mules? I’m asked that so often. Back in 2014 I met Josias, a mule in his late 20s. He came to live with us in 2018 and I could have never imaged the pillar that he would become in our family. He passed onwards to the peaceful realm in 2021 but in the time he was here he was my company, my teacher, my business partner, my trail boss, my babysitter and my rock. Because of Josias, I met other mules that have become part of our family. If you know, you know. These animals are truly noble, they are a mirror into your soul and once they accept you, they are the greatest partners anyone can have.

Who do you want to ride with? As soon as everyone is up in the saddle, the appreciation for the comraderie starts, any inequalities are dropped. We are simply a possee, a crew, together in the adventure. Thanks to for the epic rides and friendships!
