If you have not completed the exotic animal survey yet - time is running out! It is important to be a part of shaping our future in NZ and the animals we have here, and how they are managed.
Important for Bird, Reptile & Exotic Animal Owners in New Zealand
If you keep exotic birds, reptiles, amphibians, or other exotic animals — including private keepers, breeders, rescue organisations, and wildlife parks — there is a new survey open that is important to complete.
This survey is being used to help shape future policy and a possible framework for legislation around the keeping, breeding, and management of exotic animals in New Zealand. It is a valuable opportunity for responsible owners and organisations to have input into how these animals are cared for and managed going forward.
If you have experience keeping exotic species, this is your chance to ensure practical knowledge and animal welfare are considered as part of any future decisions.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and have your say:

The survey is hosted by Te Uru Kahika as part of work around biosecurity and biodiversity policy.
Please share with other keepers, breeders, aviary owners, reptile keepers, and wildlife facilities — the more informed voices involved, the better.
