It is with great sadness that we announce the greatest Charolais bull in the world has been put to sleep - Kakahu Gerry 140506.

Gerry was buried at Xcell where he has lived for the last 10 years. He has been a big part of the Xcell family and was very much a loved bull. We are all going to miss seeing him around here with his ‘I’m the bull attitude’

In our opinion, Gerry has been the most influential Charolais bull in New Zealand, putting the Charolais breed on the map in terms of beef on dairy as a true leader. He produced an incredible 297,629 straws of semen during his life, an absolute legend, and a superstar!

Gerry lives on in his Kakahu sons and daughters paving the way to continue his greatness.
