Yesterday was a tough day. I lay to rest my beautiful Tabby (Totara Parks Tabitha Twitchett). There are no words, just memories to enjoy.

Let them go on a good day.
When you notice that they are declining, and you have that hard conversation with yourself and your vet, it'll be gut wrenching, but I promise, it's okay to let them go on a good day. It's okay to let them go when it's not emergent, the sun is shining, they aren't in immense pain and suffering, they are at a good weight, and they are happy. It's okay to make that appointment and love on them until the inevitable day that you say "It's not goodbye forever, it's goodbye for now."
You'll grieve, you'll question yourself, you'll question your decision, you'll question if this is the right time. Because... what if.... it's too soon? What if... we can have 1 more winter or 1 more summer with them?
What if...
Their joints hurt on a cold winter day, and they can't get back up?
What if... the situation becomes emergent at 3a.m on a Saturday in a blizzard, and you can't reach your vet?
What if...we love them enough to let them go with dignity.
What if... We love them enough to let them them go on a good day.
It's truly the last act of love and kidness that we can offer our animals.
Love your old horse, and let them go on a good day. ❤️❤️
