This poor little guy got injured in the paddock. He was unable to get up on his own so the farmer had to pick him up several times a day. I saw him for a session 3 days after the initial injury and within a few hours he could get up on his own. Within 4 days he is looking much better!

Before and after comparison photos, 2 days apart. All I can say is WOW, what a difference! This lovely girl is feeling so much better after her equine session. Her spine is so much straighter!

Rider Rebalance
What is it and why would you need it?

I had a few questions last weekend so I thought I'd do some posts on what each session is about.
A rider rebalance is where you bring your gear, saddle, helmet, boots etc and put them on my drum horse.
By putting you in the riding position I am then able to find out where your movement might be restricted or you might be weighted to one side more than the other. I will then release any flinchlocks causing those issues. Flinchlocks are pressurized bones caused by surprise impacts. Pressurized bones are heavy bones and affect our balance and range of movement.

So who needs this? Everyone who rides a horse. Seriously. At least once or twice a year and after any falls.

I try to keep this session as cheap as possible because honestly sometimes the best thing I can do for a horse is to balance up their rider.
30 minutes and $50 this Saturday at Barge. I'll have my tent beside Ring 1 by the toilets.

I can also offer equine, canine, tack, horse + rider and human sessions.

BARGE SHOWGROUNDS - Saturday 26 September

I've been busy on the lambing beat this month, enjoying the time with my horses and sheep.

I'm sponsoring the Rising Star Circuit at Northland Area Jumping this year and the first event is 26 September.

I'm hoping to attend, providing all the sheepy mums are okay without me. I'll be offering rider rebalance, equine, canine, human, tack and horse + riders sessions. So come along and say hello.

The Shorthorn cows have been busy popping out calves so I've been busy on the farm. Lambing is about to start, which is usually quite chaotic!
Did you know that ConTact C.A.R.E can be used to help newborn calves as well as their mums?
Calves that might be a bit slow to feed, cows that are a bit sore after calving, lambs, goats, you name it!

I had a drum horse session yesterday, thanks to Pepe Ewen Equine Management and ConTact CARE my horses will be much happier!
I had flinchlocks in my right shoulder, tailbone and the ball of my left foot, which were contributing to the shape you see on the view from the back (left side is before, right side is after) where the shoulders are uneven, by the wrinkles on my jersey I can see that I had a lot more weight on my tailbone in the before shot and all that weight in my left foot will have been an obstacle for my horses. Quite literally a pain in the back! For them and for me.
So happy to have had this done just before the start of calving so my horses have an easier job of carrying me around. This will help prevent any soreness and keep them sound over the busy season. Less little niggles, more free movement, more fun for all of us.

Wow, I had such a fantastic week away with some really wonderful sessions and results! It was a bit COLD 🥶
Of course I forgot to get any photos while I was working so I'm hoping some of my lovely clients will send some through 🤞🤞
Today I got to catch up with my own dogs, shift my ewes and feed out some hay to the little heifers.

I attended a western saddle fitting clinic yesterday with saddle maker Lisa Earley. Very informative and interesting to see the saddle trees on the horses and then the saddles with the same trees on the horses as well.

Never stop learning.
