🌸 Spring is one of my favourite times of year, but with warmer weather, blooming gardens and more time outside, there are a few things I want pet owners to keep an eye on.
DAFFODILS & CATS
Those beautiful spring flowers can be dangerous. Daffodils are toxic to both cats and dogs, with the bulbs being particularly poisonous. They can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, drooling and, with larger amounts, more serious symptoms. So if you have a curious digger or plant-eating kitty, keep those bulbs well out of reach.
POLLEN & ALLERGIES
Spring can also mean itchy pets! Pollen, grass and other environmental allergens can trigger scratching, licking, red skin, ear problems and excessive grooming. If your pet suddenly seems much itchier than normal, don't just put it down to "spring" β€” it's worth getting them checked.
FLEAS ARE BACK!
Warm weather means flea populations can really take off. And remember, the fleas you see on your pet are only a small part of the problem β€” eggs and larvae can be hiding throughout your home and environment. Regular, effective flea prevention is much easier than trying to deal with a full-blown infestation!
AND DON'T FORGET THE GARDEN
Fertilisers, slug and snail bait, insecticides and other garden products can all pose risks to our pets. Keep pets away while products are being applied and always follow the label instructions.

Spring is all about getting outside, enjoying the sunshine and watching our pets make the most of it β€” just with a little bit of extra awareness.

Does your cat like being picked up?🐱

Some cats love being carried around and will happily curl up in your arms, while others would much rather keep all four paws firmly on the ground!

What’s your cat like? Do they enjoy a cuddle, or do they make it very clear when they’ve had enough?

Tell us in the comments!🐾
