Something a little different for your Wednesdays 💙

Our Wellness Wednesdays are all about giving both you AND your dog a chance to be looked after.

Book your dog in for a 30-minute canine remedial massage with Raeleen, and you can book yourself a 30-minute wellness massage at the same time for just $110 🐾

You can book just the canine massage, or make an afternoon of it and treat you both. We reckon it would make a pretty cool gift for the dog-obsessed person in your life too!

Wellness Wednesday appointments are limited and take a little extra organising, so we’ve added a new massage page to the website where you can read more and send through an enquiry.

Fill in the form and we’ll be in touch to book an appointment for you and your mate 💙

You might have spotted both CBG and CBD on our shelves at Paws 4 Rehab, but did you know they’re actually quite different? 🌿🐾

CBG is the one that often surprises people. The CBG we stock isn’t derived from cannabis at all. It comes from the Woolly Umbrella, also known as the Curry Plant, which naturally produces cannabinoid-like compounds that interact with the body in a similar way.

It’s completely legal and non-psychoactive, and we use it as an option for dogs needing a little extra support with things like joint comfort and mobility, recovery, skin issues, and calm and general wellbeing.

CBD, on the other hand, is derived from h**p. It’s another option we stock and is commonly used to support things like joint discomfort and inflammation, skin issues, and calm and relaxation.

There can be a bit of confusion around CBG vs CBD and which one might be more suitable for your dog, so you don’t need to figure it out on your own!

Both are available at Paws 4 Rehab. Have a chat to us in the clinic and we can talk you through the products we stock and how they’re used 💙

Happy Holistic Pet Day! 🐾💙

For us, a holistic approach simply means looking at the whole dog, not just the sore leg, stiff joint or injury that brought them through our doors.

How are they moving day to day? Are they strong enough for the things we’re asking them to do? Are they getting the right kind of exercise? How are they managing at home? Are slippery floors making things harder? Are they carrying extra weight? Are they comfortable, confident and still getting to do the things they enjoy?

All of those little pieces can have an impact, which is why there’s rarely one single answer when it comes to rehab.

Sometimes it’s physio or hydro. Sometimes it’s changing their exercise, adding a ramp at home, building strength, managing their weight or simply finding a different way for them to keep doing the things they love.

It’s all about looking at the dog in front of us and figuring out what they need 💙

Happy International Dog Day!! 🌏🐶💙

The young ones, the oldies, the working dogs, the couch potatoes, the three-legged ones, the four-legged ones, the tiny ones, the absolute units, and the ones with a LOT of personality 😂

We might be a little biased given that we get to spend our days with them, but we really do think dogs are the best 🐾

Give your dog an extra cuddle from us today! 💙

Meet Honey and her pretty impressive new set of wheels! 🦽🥹🐾

Honey is 11 years old and is currently recovering from fused arthritis in her ankle. Her wheels are helping take some of the load off and giving her back a bit more independence while she gets around.

And the really cool part? She’s able to move around and even toilet independently in them!

Mobility aids like this can make such a difference for the right dog. It’s not always about getting them back to moving exactly as they did before, sometimes it’s about finding new ways to keep them comfortable, confident and able to do things for themselves.

Honey has been doing such a great job learning how to use them, and we think she looks pretty flash too 😍

We’ll share some footage of her in action soon! 🛞💨

Just a little appreciation post for our wonderful clients 💙

We know having a dog going through rehab isn’t always easy. Whether you’re dealing with an injury, recovering from surgery, managing an older dog, or just trying to keep them moving and feeling their best, there’s often a lot that goes on behind the scenes at home too.

So we just wanted to say, you’re doing a great job 🐾

And thank you for continuing to support our little clinic. For trusting us with your dogs, recommending us to your friends, sharing our posts, leaving reviews, and coming back to see us week after week.

We absolutely love what we do, and getting to know you and your dogs is a pretty special part of it 🐕

Thanks for keeping us so busy and letting us look after your best mates 💙

If your dog has surgery coming up, there are a few things you can do beforehand that can make those first few weeks at home a whole lot easier!

One of the big ones is getting everything they’ll need early. Don’t wait until you’ve got a sore, post-op dog at home to introduce a support harness or try to convince them that the new ramp isn’t terrifying 😅

Get them used to wearing their harness, practise walking up and down the ramp, put some grip down over slippery floors and have their recovery area ready to go 🐕‍🦺

If they’re going to need crate rest or really restricted movement, think about that ahead of time too. Where will they sleep? How will you get them outside to toilet? How will you keep them occupied when they’re used to being active? Lick mats, food puzzles and other calm enrichment can be really handy during this stage.

And one we really recommend is coming to see us before surgery, rather than waiting until afterwards 💙

Depending on what’s going on with your dog, there may be things we can safely work on beforehand to maintain strength and movement without aggravating the injury. We can also help you prepare for what’s coming, so you’re not trying to figure everything out once they’re home.

Recovery can be a big adjustment for dogs AND their humans, but being prepared makes such a difference.

If your dog has surgery coming up and you’ve got questions about what you should be doing beforehand, let us know below or get in touch with us 🐶
