Cheryl Trust Practitioner NZ Sharing a peaceful and trusting approach to helping animals with their behaviour issues using the Trust Technique.
(1)

This approach is a game changer for any issue, in all animals. I specialise in dogs with high reactivity, trauma, separation anxiety, etc I love doing these sessions - its amazing working with people and their animals on this level and seeing the changes in just one session! It just the loveliest way to work with animals that are anxious or aggressive, going at their pace and helping them understand life doesnt have to be this way, they can come through this.

My new friend Aubrey having her first Trust Technique session on the weekend.

She’s such a sweet dog and unfortunately has taken to growling and lunging and biting when scared.

Mum and dad have invested a lot of time and money into her training but she is still struggling and so are they.

We have big goals and great people and a gorgeous unconfident dog…. Let’s get things going differently with this different way of going💜 loved watching her get really peaceful in the cabin

Lovely dogs having ConTact C.A.R.E this week. Mickey came in a bit flat but left a box of fluffies! He enjoyed me helping him relieve his aches and stress….left here with a big smile on his face….and way straighter than he came in!

Then I had Floki and Murph come in and show me where they wanted me to work. I had so much fun I forgot to get a photo of Floki. But Murph posed for one on their behalf 💜

Love helping dogs relieve body pain and stress with this work.

Just a little dog needing support, then landing in the best foster home💜

he is Pound Pooches Hawkes Bay pup and was struggling to be walked. In the night videos that’s how he used to go and they walked him at night to try and make it easier

He would react to all the traffic especially ute’s and trucks and bikes and noisy cars.

He moved foster and I got to work with his latest foster family with the Trust Technique, and they then jumped on the online Lead Skills group series.

Over 2 weeks he went from chaos to calm(er) on lead even with busy traffic going past…. A couple more weeks and he will be even more happier on lead 🙌but I love how much he’s feeling supported by his new people.

The day vids are in his new home with his new people walking and enjoying it while utes go past, and mum was shocked, it’s all their hard work learning a new way of going and it’s paying off. I heard a whisper he may be staying with this fam!! Wahoo

Well done guys 🙌💜🙌

Anyone that’s worked with me knows the power of what I do.

It’s hard to show you how much the dogs and their people change in their working with me.

I take photos and terrible vids to show you a snippet of what we do together.

What I can’t show you nor do I share is the mess the dog is in when they turn up, to varying degrees.

Some of the dogs are trying to eat me, barking to keep me away, or trying to hide under the chairs cause they are so scared. Or they are shaking, panting, crying….and so are some of their people.

It’s not uncommon to have tears in my cabin. Tears for the heartbreaking back story of the dogs past, or the tears of frustration as the person who has given up hope on their dog being any different after many trainers and tries, or tears for the upcoming euthanasia of the dog for biting or whatever and sitting there asking me can I help. And I can…and I do….but I don’t share much of their stories, I just share the celebrations, and trust me some of these dogs have come from the brink….and yes some of the owners too.

But then we get started and if the humans go home and implement the changes there is no stopping us! There is no looking back! We go for it.

But I need four sessions (at least) with you to show you all the ways you could support your dog towards calmer behaviour. And for those that think the Trust Technique is just breathing with your dog - it’s not, it’s so much more than you know or see. I struggle to show how far these dogs come in such a short time…. it’s a gamechanger !!

Anyway if you are looking for a way to help your dog with any issues or problems, without tricks or treats or gadgets, give me a call and I will get you booked in.

4 sessions over 3 weeks, goals ✅ just like that 💜

I want to show you Boudien and mum. They came a few weeks back because Boudien used to not walk anywhere he didn’t want go (or was actually too scared to go) and when he did go mum was running behind him trying to keep up. So it was messy for them both….mum scared she couldn’t hold him and Boudien scared she couldn’t support him.
This was our first session - I got them to show me how they walk… then I showed them a different way. Boudien was quickly trying hard to do this with mum….look at his stop 🥰 now it’s not perfect but she’s been back and we are working on her habits so she can help him go out for calmer walks. He is super strong! But learning he can go softly with mum.
I will pop more vids up as we go - but this was a great start - well done mum 💕

I love watching the dogs faces before and after a ConTact C.A.R.E treatment.

On Friday I got to work with Willow and then Leo. Willow was quickly working through all her body and enjoying every moment.

Leo was the opposite he went slow and deep and fell asleep in the middle of it bless him 💜

Then on Saturday Morrow had her first session in this amazing technique to release built up pressure in the body. Morrow gave me the look ‘did you just do that!?!? ‘ yes morrow I sure did. She then went for it, worked harder than I did to show me where she wanted me

Love this work
