The Shape of Love

Last week, we had the honour of caring for some special little friends, a bearded dragon and a chicken. They are definitely not the Staffy and Tabby that we care for on a normal Tuesday morning. It was such a beautiful reminder that every single life leaves a massive imprint on the families who love them.

Love is love, and love isn't measured by their shape or size.

It doesn't matter if our best friend has feathers, scales, or fur. Whether they sleep at the foot of our bed or bask under a heat lamp, the bond we share with them is real, and their memory deserves to be honoured with the exact same dignity.
To all the families of birds, reptiles, and pocket pets, we see you, we understand that unique bond, and we are here for you.

p.s. Zibber, our blue tongue skink definitely got extra treats and cuddles. Plus new furnitures for his vivarium house!

No one can undo death. Love doesn’t disappear after death; it just changes shape.

It has to be one of these rainy afternoons, my tears mixed with the rain when I left Aquafare. A beautiful family we recently cared for chose to channel their love and grief into something truly extraordinary. In honour of their pet, they are quietly putting an initiative together that will help other families experience the same gentle farewell their fur baby received. We were left so deeply touched by their love and vision.

The love we have for our fur babies doesn’t disappear after they pass. It changes shape. It turns into the legacy they leave behind.

The legacy isn’t measured by the size of the gesture, but by the love behind it. Not everyone can build the legacy on a grand scale like this. More often, it is planting a flower in the garden, keeping a special keepsake by the bed, or walk their favourite trail. Every single one of us carries our pet's memory forward in our own unique ways.

Eventually the heavy moments pass, and we are able to talk about them with a smile. It’s not that we have forgotten the pain and regret, it’s about not letting their final moment become their whole life.

It's July! and we are in the thick of the Wellington winter. Whos loving this sunny Saturday!

Just as I was sitting down to complete some paperwork for the week. My management team started to distract me with their vastly different vibes:

Zibber, the bluey is giving 100% professional energy, ready for a board meeting. And then there's Shaddo...emmm 😆. Honestly tho, wouldn't have it any other way.
