We've been looking forward to the new seawall cycleway opening for quite sometime and the day has finally arrived to allow traffic on to it. While it was under construction its impending completion was a part of the various reasons we wanted to get into creating bicycle run episodes to diversity our content.
You will see in this adventure that we and thousands of others, velocipede enthusiasts of all varieties and footsloggers en masse, took to the Seawall on day one to celebrate.
We celebrated by producing our longest DND Dog Walk Episode yet, because there was just so much goodness to be had in this one adventure and you know that we don't really edit out anything so that it is a real time shared experience for you all. It was definitely worthy of breaking our usual self imposed one hour time limit for an episode. I suppose we could call it a feature!
The name of the new Seawall is Te Ara Tupua:
π
Te Ara Tupua roughly translates to βThe Path of the Supernatural Beingsβ or βThe Path of the Ancestors/Legendary Beings.β
Te Ara = βthe pathwayβ or βthe routeβ
Tupua = beings of spiritual or legendary significance β often translated as supernatural beings, taniwha, giants, or ancestral entities depending on context.
π
This place is aptly named and you will see that this country have honoured history and the environment in many ways with the construction of these public space for future generations to enjoy.
This is our longest ever episode of Encounters too. The final edit for it comes to 40 minutes. There was lots of pleasant interactions with many members of the community on the day to share with you all.
