🐾 Patient of the Week: Zoe! 🐾

Meet Zoe, our energetic Greyhound who is absolutely full of beans! πŸ’¨β€οΈ

Zoe recently visited us with a rather awkward and embarrassing issue... her a**l glands were causing her some discomfort. While it might not be a glamorous topic, a**l gland problems are actually quite common in dogs and can leave them feeling sore, irritated, and less like their usual happy selves.

🐢 What are a**l glands? Dogs have two small scent glands located just inside their bottom. These glands normally empty naturally when a dog passes a stool, but sometimes they can become full, impacted, or even infected. Signs that your dog may be having a**l gland issues include:
β€’ Scooting their bottom along the ground
β€’ Excessive licking of their rear end
β€’ A fishy or unpleasant smell
β€’ Discomfort when sitting or toileting

After spending the day with our team and getting the care she needed, Zoe's troublesome a**l glands were sorted, and we're happy to report she's back to being her wonderfully bouncy, crazy self! πŸŽ‰πŸΎ

We loved having Zoe in with us and seeing her return to her happy, playful personality. Thank you for being such a superstar patient, Zoe! ⭐

πŸΎπŸ’™ Vet Nurse Awareness Week πŸ’™πŸΎ

This week, we're celebrating the incredible veterinary nurses who are at the heart of everything we do! πŸŽ‰πŸΆπŸ±

Our amazing nursing team, Bex, Zara, Rach, Melsy, Sandra, Courtney, Dani, Bri, and Ella, work tirelessly behind the scenes (and often in the spotlight too!) to provide compassionate care for your pets every single day. πŸ’™

From comforting nervous patients and assisting during surgery 🩺, to monitoring anaesthetics, running laboratory tests πŸ”¬, administering treatments πŸ’‰, providing nursing care, and supporting pet owners through both happy and difficult times, their skills and dedication are truly invaluable.

Being a veterinary nurse is so much more than cuddles and treats (although there are plenty of those too! πŸΎπŸ’•). It takes knowledge, compassion, patience, and an unwavering commitment to animal welfare.

We are incredibly lucky to have such a talented, caring, and hardworking team of nurses. Their passion for helping animals and supporting our clients makes a difference every day, and we couldn't do what we do without them.

πŸ‘ A huge thank you to Bex, Zara, Rach, Melsy, Sandra, Courtney, Dani, Bri, and Ella for everything you do for our patients, clients, and team. We appreciate you today and every day! ❀️

Please join us in celebrating our fantastic vet nurses this Vet Nurse Awareness Week! πŸŽ‰πŸΎ

🌟 Patient of the Week: Skittles! 🌟

Say hello to sweet Skittles, who recently visited us for a glucose curve to help monitor their diabetes. πŸ©ΊπŸ’™

Did you know that cats can develop diabetes just like people? πŸ±πŸ’‰ Feline diabetes occurs when a cat's body is unable to properly regulate blood sugar levels. Common signs can include increased thirst, increased urination, weight loss, and a bigger appetite than usual.

A glucose curve is an important tool that helps us see how a diabetic cat's blood sugar levels change throughout the day. This information allows us to fine-tune insulin doses and ensure our furry patients are receiving the best possible care. πŸ“ˆβœ¨

With the right combination of insulin, diet, regular monitoring, and lots of love, many diabetic cats can live long, happy, and comfortable lives. ❀️

Way to go, Skittles! Thank you for being such a superstar during your visit. 🌟🐾

🐾✨ PATIENT OF THE WEEK: MOOSE ✨🐾

Say hello to our gorgeous patient, Moose! πŸ’›πŸΆ

At just 13 weeks old, this handsome Golden Retriever recently visited us for a Juvenile P***c Symphysiodesis (JPS) procedure.

JPS is a minimally invasive surgery performed in young puppies, ideally between 12 and 20 weeks of age, to help prevent or reduce the development of hip dysplasia. By encouraging improved hip joint stability during growth, this procedure can help set puppies like Moose up for a happier, more comfortable future. 🦴πŸ’ͺ

Moose was an absolute superstar throughout his visit and stole plenty of hearts along the way! ⭐ We wish him a smooth recovery and many years of adventures, zoomies, and tail wags ahead. πŸ•πŸŒ³πŸ’š

Join us in wishing Moose all the best on his recovery journey! πŸ‘πŸΎ
