One of those lucky days 🌸🐎
Spring time and just 1 rider booked on the Lake Ride. We had such a great time!

I, Sam the owner, have been guiding a bit more since baby Maddy and getting back into the swing of things. So having just one rider on the Lake Ride is a bit of a treat and a nice way to get used to the fast rides, and bigger days.

It was a bit magical with the weather, no wind, and the bestest horses. And the sweetest rider on Nekko!

I love our rides so much, like a kid so happy ✨

A little bit if behind the scenes of our amazing guides and interns who always work so hard! Yes it is a dream job but things a.k.a. horses don’t always go to plan. This job involves a lot of socialising, being the life of the party, switched on constantly, problem solving, thinking 5 steps ahead, so it definitely is not a job for everyone.

But we al love it so much, especially when we have the most amazing people coming to ride with us and you hear their “wow”, see their smiles, and genuine appreciation for an experience they’ll never forget 💕

This was so cool, and fun to try out! The big race between our 2 fastest horses.

Next time we’d do it a little bit different though, they should trot to the start and then take off instead off starting from a standstill.

Personally I think Captain is faster, but Bridget and West had an amazing start. They knew what needed to be done, and went for it. How fun to be able to let them fly!!

And keep in mind these are “Standardbreds” bred for the trotting races. But man some have a beautiful canter / gallop.

Our longest ride is the 2-day ride. Even though it is only 2 days it will feel as if you’ve been gone for much longer.

We ride to a beautiful spot at the beach, where we have some time to relax, eat, and swim if the weather allows. The food is provided by an amazing local chef. Trust me when I say this is the best food you’ve ever eaten in the back country.

Then we continue to ride up the big hill to a private hut. Here your big comfortable tent is set up with your luggage and its time for a cheese platter and a cold drink. We even bring portable showers to rinse off at the end of the day.

The next day it is a relaxed start. No need to rush when you are on a holiday. First a coffee and a breath of the fresh mountain air.

Everyone has loved it so much, so get in quick because it will sell out!!
