Opalite is having a holiday with a potential new breeder who will be raising her litter. Here she is on the day she left looking not very round yet. She was probably only about half way through her pregnancy but she's due any day now!

Babies will be cinny berks with a chance of other agouti based dilutes (maybe apricot and argente) and hopefully fluffies.

If anyone else is interested in breeding, fostering a litter is a great way to start out! You get to learn the ropes with the support of experienced breeders, and don't have to worry about buying anything extra or finding homes for the babies (unless you want to). I really love helping new breeders start out so get in touch if you think you'd like to start your own rattery :)

Individual photos of my current litters are up! What a crew of cuties (except maybe this little one who tried her best to ruin her photshoot 😅)

I'm 90% sure I know who I'll be keeping so I'll email everyone with photos of who they'll be getting in the next few days.

I've finally penciled in homes for my current litters, so if you put your hand up check your email! Even with so many little ones I still didn't have enough for everyone. If you didn't get an email give it a few more days though - someone might change their mind.

Here's a pic of some of the boys visiting playcentre last week. They are VERY well handled babies and so calm and snuggly

No fancy photos because my camera is out of batteries and I can't find my charger! But here are the boy/girl splits for my 2 younger litters :)

As soon as I get a night where I can get the kids in bed at a reasonable time I'll email everyone who put their hand up for babies and let you know who you can have. I had lots and lots of people put their hands up for babies this time around but I can pass anyone who misses out on to Winnie's Rattery and I'll be pairing for another 2 girlies in a week or so.

I give each litter of babies names starting with the same letter and I'm at the tricky end of the alphabet. KELT's litter is U, Moth's is V, Twisties is W, and Maggies is X.

These are, I think, my 2 keeper girls from KELT's litter:
Scruffians UFO (Unidentified fluffy object) - apricot hood
Scruffians Ultraviolet - cinnamon berkshire

I still have 7 other U names to come up with! Also all the V, W, and X names. Please share any ideas you have.

Babies update!

Twisties little ones are doing really well. Twistie is a super diligent mum and is keeping them very cosy in a very impressive nest. She carefully covers them every time she has to nip out so they're always snuggly warm.

Moth is doing well in her try-out-breeding home. Her bubs have coloured up now and you can clearly see the shape of their hoods.

AND I got a somewhat surprise litter! I had paired Moth's sister Maggie to one of my boys but I didn't think she'd got pregnant, she was only with the boy for less than a week and she hadn't put on hardly any weight. Her earliest due date was Saturday and she didn't look round at all but I moved her to a maternity cage just in case. On Sunday I heard little eeps and she'd given birth to these 3 little beans!
