Ace ♠ ♥ ♣ ♦ gets his chance to shine there this year — as long as I can keep my cool! 😁

Last year I didn't dare share the news until after the show was done. It was my first time in front of such a big crowd, and I still remember exactly how it felt the second I rode through that curtain.

This year is set to be even more special — Cinnamon gets to stay home and Ace's first time in front of such a big crowd - we've been practicing every day!
I have also joined forces with a hugely talented horsewoman who will be joining us for the show!

Big moment with Ace today 🐴💛 Training hard for Equifest in October, and this is the 2nd time he's laid down with me on his back! He was so relaxed the whole time — no hesitation, no doubt, just total trust.

(Helps that he knows he gets to munch on grass while he's down there 😂🌱)

I got asked the other day why I teach my horses to be hobbled, especially with all the negativity around it on social media.

For me, if it's introduced correctly and done the right way, I see so many benefits and use it in lots of different situations.

One thing I forgot to mention when I was explaining it to my client was this...

I don't have a proper arena, and I'm often on my own with young horses especially over Winter. Thats when the ground gets slippery, so safe riding surfaces are limited and usually quite a distance from my stalls and my horses' familiar surroundings.

Instead of spending days just getting a young horse comfortable in a new environment—or risking taking a stressed youngster onto slippery ground on its own—I simply hop on Ace, ride to where I want to work the youngster, hobble Ace, and let him enjoy what he thinks is absolute heaven: grazing on fresh grass while sbd else has to work.

The result? A relaxed, confident young horse because their trusted mate is right there. It allows us to take our time, build confidence, and gradually teach them to venture out on their own without unnecessary stress.

Be creative - dont let the environment/limited facilities ,stop you from reaching your goals !

What a wicked surprise to come home to this after our Holidays !

Archie won " Most improved Rider 2026"!!!! Very proud mum!

and I won the "Horsemanship Award" of the 2026 season!

For me as a Horse Trainer obviously one of the highest honors and more important than overall points - so I am over the moon!!
Plus I get to look at this beautiful wooden trophy for the next year!

Today we got to greet 3 beautiful purebred Appaloosa geldings at Airlie Performance Horses -
bred by Kopanui Stud - Ileen Hunter !

Well handled - looking great- and they even came with perfectly prepared papers and merch 😁🤩

Thank you Kopanui Stud!

Cant wait to see what gorgeous boys they gonna grow into and where their future as ridden horses will be!
