Oh gee, the cat, or better yet, the dog is out of the bag.
Yes, you may have heard or seen, the villa is on the market 😭
No that does not mean it will sell, and no I am not closing the business! If things progress and this beautiful property does sell, then we have strategies and ideas in place to make things as smooth as possible for you and your pups.We're in this together, if you're worried, have questions or concerns just ask!

What's this? She's finally posted again?!
I've crawled out of my little cave covered in dog hair, nail clippings and the odd dangle-berry 😂

The sun is shining, the mornings are crisp and my back hurts; but at least the puppies are looking cute!! 😍

With the seasonal change comes allergies, fleas and funky bacteria that makes your dog smell like a weird bread loaf. Yeast, yeast and more yeast! Bacterial infections and gunk. Keep an eye out and your nose in tune for any off odors coming from your pups ears, mouth and feet. Excess redness, swelling and foot licking can be early signs of allergies or infections!

Also keep your eyes and ears peeled for fun changes on the horizon, as well as dates the studio will be closed.

Hello! Oh my gosh January is coming to an end 😭

What a first month it as been! A few notes and important information;

Ticks!!! Ahh!! I've had a few separate dogs from different families come for a wash after the beach, and goodness me, a tick or two hiding under the fluff 🤢
Please, please check your pups over after a beach, forest or farm excursion.

Allergies and infections!! Itchy tummies, feet and ears. What's near the ground is nearest to pollen. Keep an eye out for excessive itching, welts and rashes. Pollen allergies are high this season!

Pre-book, pre-book, pre-book!!!
The studio will be closed for 6-7 weeks from August 30th to October 14th. If you know, you know 🫢👀

Merry Christmas!! Happy holidays and thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Everyone has been so utterly amazing and kind this year, it has been such a pleasure to service all of these gorgeous pups. I am so thankful to every pet parent, foster, relative and rescuer who trusts me to care for and pamper their fur-baby.
This year has been full of tears, hugs, happiness and grief. Every dog that walks through the salon gate becomes a part of the Soft Paws family, and when they depart, wether moving away and crossing the rainbow bridge; they leave bits of hair around my heart. I cherish every one of your pups, you and your family members; thank you for being in my life, and for letting me be a small part of yours ❤️

Take care this Christmas, make sure you and your pup keep hydrated in this heat!! Don't let to dogs have any Christmas ham or sneaky chocolate. If your dog got an extra short clip this Christmas be mindful of sun burn! Plus hot pavements and hot cars in general!

Wowza! Our first week into December and boy are my legs tired 😅
January is almost booked up, I have a two week break in May and a 6 week break in August/September. So definitely plan ahead!

A reminder that all no-shows and late cancellation (less than 24h) during December will result in a cancellation fee of the booked service.

Grass seeds!! Check your toes, your dogs toes and your tomatoes because barley grass is here and it's not going away 😭

Speaking of the grass! It's brown!! The sun is out, about and ready to roast your dogs feeties! Before taking your dog for a walk press the back of your hand to the surface you'll be strolling on for 10sec. Is it hot? Maybe postpone that walk until after dinner or for before breakfast, when the sun is low and the air is cool.

!!!DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG IN THE CAR!!!
Even mid 20°s outside can turn your car into an oven, roasted, dehydrated furbabies aren't exactly on the Christmas list and I'd like to keep it that way. Leave them home or with a trusted friend/family member, not in your car 🥰

Christmas!! Ho-ho-ho!! Woof-woof-woof!!
I'm slammed, not a space in sight! (Until January 🥹)
Now extra, extra important information;
I like to think I'm quite a leanient person, but this December, no-showing and late cancellation (less than 12 hours notice) will result in the full groom fee for the dog/s scheduled. Space is limited this year, and the ones on the waitlist deserve the chance to fill a gap if given enough notice. No funny business, just fluffy business 🐩🐾

Fleas, Grass seeds and Sunny days
With the weather warming and the green ground turning brown that means a couple things, the fleas are out of hibernation and the grass seeds are looking for any kind of furry crevasse they can squeeze into. Pretty, pretty please check between your pup's toes, ears, eyes and nose for pesky seeds hiding in plain sight!

Important info!!!!!!

Fluffy and questionably mannered, yet lovable either way 😍

The studio will be closed from the 7th to the 26th of November, if you know, you know 🫢👀

I will not be taking on new clients come December 1st, until January 9th when the studio will be up and running full time again.

Book your pup in for their end of year groom.......LIMITED SPACES.....

Oooooo I've been slack 🫢
Not posting for a month!! So naughty

Well! Here you go, have some long awaited beautiful babies!!! The weather has been warming up (for the last two days 😂) I still have my fluffy socks on but at least I'm not snuggled up with a dog under the heater while we defrost. Progress is progress!
I've had an influx of special needs dogs/rehab cases so I sincerely apologize for my lack of social media presence. Exhaustion on top of my pre-existing health conditions makes a few things difficult, good thing the dogs can't talk back because I definitely don't talk their ears off like a crazy lady!

Pretty, pretty please book in your Christmas grooms, a few days are full already; which totally isn't terrifying. Where did Christmas come from? I swear it was Easter yesterday. Oh well 😅

All lightly dusted with a variety of floral colognes! 😍

How could you not fall in love with every single one?!

We don't discriminate on breed or background (though I do have my favourites 🤫)
So many different kinds of doggies walk through the salon doors. Some with skin care requirements, mental/psychological challenges or physical needs. And I'm so thankful to be given the trust of every owner along the way.
All that matters at the end of the day is if your pup is comfortable.... And snazzy 🥰

I'm currently recommending pre-booking your first or second appointments, as the day or time you're after may already be gone 😬

Oh me, oh my, who do I spot with my little eye?!
Doggies!!!! And cute ones at that!!

Look at these adorable showstoppers, rocking fancy feet, winter jackets and carded coats. Such a variety of styles, preferences and breeds; although there is a large amount of schnauzers 😂
How's everyone's winter going so far?! I'm coming off a sinus infection, my apologies to those that I had to reschedule when it first hit, it was like a truck towing a trailer of razor blades collided with my throat, that's a lovely visual for your evening!

Fleas, fleas, fleas!! Itchy little bastards are back at it again, so here's your flea and worm treatment reminder!

Pre-book!! We're only human, life happens, minds get full and memories get scattered. So to help both of us stay on track pencil in your next 1, 2 or even 3 grooms, baths, nails or whatever your beautiful pooch requires to stay spiffy and smelling fresh.

Here's our dog of the week!
Baby woody in for his first ever groom, a Border Terrier terrified of the world! This sweet little man has the ability to wobble like a leaf in the wind with the side eye of a sassy teenager. He only needed one minor correction and he was relaxed and comfortable for the entire groom!
Not only did he love the bath, but he refused the happy hoodie and braved the hairdryer without a single shake or shiver!!

For a first ever full groom, this nervous little man has some serious potential and I can't wait to see the dog he grows into. I'm happy and grateful to be part of his journey 🥰
