So unfortunately with rescue, also comes the ones we try so hard to help but it doesn't always end well.

Our little girl Chai took her last breath about an hour ago. I had taken her to the vets last week saying she had a rattle in her chest but they assured me she was fine. I kept her warm, dry and fed but it wasn't enough.🥲

If you have unneutered pets please ask for help in getting them fixed so more precious babies don't need to suffer.

Chai had 10 days of dry, warm conditions and plenty of food and milk but unfortunately that wasn't enough to save her life. Approximately 12-14 weeks old.

RIP Chai

Rabbit has been missing here in Waiouru for just about a year. He's heading back home to Rangataua tonight. Happy ending for his family who has missed him terribly. Microchips are a great resource when our pets go missing.

SNIP ‘N’ CHIP COMES TO THE CENTRAL NORTH ISLAND! 🙌

We are excited to be launching a new Snip ‘n’ Chip campaign for cat owners in Taupō, Taihape, Taumarunui, Ruapehu, Rangitikei, and other nearby areas.

From 30 July 2025 we are working with local participating veterinary clinics to offer this service to cat owners who are struggling with the cost of des*xing and microchipping. Vouchers help those in need get their cat des*xed and microchipped for $30.

Bookings are now OPEN! Click the link in the comments to check if vouchers are available in your area and register for your Snip ‘n’ Chip voucher. If you know someone who needs help with the online system, you can help by completing the registration with them.

Thank you so much to our participating vet clinics for helping us to make this important campaign possible ❤️

PLEASE REMEMBER – a limited number of vouchers are available to help those who require financial assistance. Please, only get a voucher if you need one and intend to use it. In the past, we have noticed some vouchers were never used, or bookings were made with vet clinics and never attended. When this happens, it prevents someone else from using the voucher who might really need it.

For more information, check out our des*xing website.
