Planning a round pen or yard? Before you go down the post-and-rail route, have a look at these! 🐴

These round pens and yards have all been made using EquiSol tape — a safe, cost-effective option that looks really smart on the property.

Post and rail can be a big cost, and rails don’t always stay intact. With EquiSol tape, horses have a clear boundary and can see out, which often helps keep them calmer — plus it’s a tidy setup that’s easy to maintain.

If you want help planning what you’d need for your project, flick me a message 💚

If you want a fence that’s simple, affordable, and easy to install yourself, the EquiSol Y Post System is hard to beat! 💚

It’s one of the most cost-effective ways to get your horse fencing sorted, and it’s designed to be genuinely DIY-friendly. The insulators pin straight onto the Y posts, you thread and tension the tape by hand as you go, and the only time you need a drill is for the end insulators on your wooden corner posts.

No fencing contractors, no specialised tensioning tools, and no complicated setup. It’s ideal for track systems, splitting paddocks, or getting a new block fenced quickly so you can get stock on without the hold-up.

And just as importantly — it’s designed with horse safety first. The wide tape creates a clear boundary, and the system is built to give under pressure and break before causing injury. If a horse has a mishap, you’re often looking at a quick re-tension or a tape joiner rather than a fence injury.

I’ve had plenty of women put this system up themselves, and that’s exactly why I rate it so highly. At around $550 per 100m including Y posts, it stacks up very well against traditional fencing once labour is added in.

Send me your location and rough paddock layout and I’ll help you get your new fencing underway!

Boundary fencing safety matters so much — especially when you’ve got agistment horses, holiday horses arriving, and rehab horses that need calm, consistent paddocks. 💚🐴

Sally from Silver Linings already had deer fencing in place when she bought the property, and the priority was simple: keep horses safely off the boundary.

She originally had pigtail outriggers with tape, but found it constantly sagged and the horses didn’t really respect it. When she switched to EquiSol, she replaced both with our tape and outriggers — and since then, she hasn’t had a single horse touch the boundary line.

What Sally loves is watching how quickly horses work it out: they test it once, realise it’s live, and then they give the whole boundary a wide berth — even visiting horses that aren’t used to it. It’s quite uncanny how clever they are.

If you’ve got deer fencing or boundary wire that needs to stay, this is such a practical way to make it horse-safe. Find the outriggers on our website, or flick me a message and I can help you with a fencing plan.

Have you got hills on your block and wondering how on earth you’re meant to fence them neatly? ⛰️🐴

This is where EquiSol really shines. On uneven ground you can follow the contour without overthinking it — unlike a lot of traditional fencing options where you’re measuring, cutting, wrestling with tension, and thinking “do I need a maths degree for this?” 😅 And on hills, it often turns into a job that needs extra tools, extra strength, or a fencing contractor to get it right.

With EquiSol you can do it yourself, without compromising on safety. It looks really tidy, keeps your horses safe, and it doesn’t blow the budget.

These installs are such a good example of how beautifully EquiSol can follow the contour of the land — clean, tidy, and made for real NZ terrain.

One of the best things about the EquiSol system is how quick it is to put up — and how easy it is to fix if you ever need to replace an insulator. ⚒️

Sally from Silver Linings shows it here: drill the two screws in, pop the tape through, tighten and tension… done. Takes seconds!

A far cry from replacing broken rails — and so easy she or her staff can do it without needing to rope her husband in. (Notice a theme here... EquiSol = women can do it all on their own! 💪)

Check out our online store and if you are ready to create a fencing plan either flick me a message or submit an enquiry through the contact form, you could have your new fencing system in by the end of the weekend!

Broken rails, constant maintenance, and safety worries — Sally had had enough. When your promise is “Their well-being. Your peace of mind.”, the fencing has to match. 🐴

At Silver Linings, they offer agistment and rehab and we visited to hear why Sally moved from post and rail to EquiSol. After years of maintenance — and the worry that comes with broken rails and horses getting hurt — she decided it was time for a better solution.

Sally did her research and EquiSol came out on top because it ticked the boxes that mattered:
✅ safe for horses
✅ she could install it herself
✅ friendly, fast service
✅ looks really smart on the property

She also has a horse of her own who tests fencing and is still rehabbing years on from a post and rail injury. Since switching to EquiSol he still has a go, but he’s stayed safe and there have been no more injuries — plus she’s saved a fortune in vet bills and owners love the peace of mind.

Thinking about replacing your fencing? Submit an enquiry through the website or send me a message and I’ll come back to you with a quote and help you work out the best setup for your place 💚

Your new favourite little gadget! 😍💪

Small but mighty, these locking insulators do a lot of heavy lifting.

The rubber inserts are the clever part — they grip the tape, hold tension, and help keep your fence line neat without sagging or flapping around in the wind. They also help prolong the life of the tape by reducing movement, which means less fraying and less chance of it breaking over time.

They’re so simple to use. No fancy tensioning tools, no brute strength, and no reason you can’t install or replace one yourself in a matter of seconds.

We've used plastic screws for a reason — if a horse hits the fence hard, EquiSol is designed to break before causing injury. And if the odd insulator does give, that’s a whole lot better than a vet bill. If a horse does go through the tape, the rest of the fence line will stay up, and you can simply use a tape joiner to fix the broken section.

Our insulators are simple, affordable, and effective — UV tested to 10,000 hours (around 5 years of NZ sunshine), with real-life installs still going strong 10 years on.

A tip for longevity: keep your tape hot. If horses lean on it, the system is designed to give rather than take that strain, so you can end up with sagging tape or released insulators.

If you’d like help planning your setup, send me a message — I’m always happy to help 💚

EquiSol is not just for horses! 🐄

George and Harry are my two pet steers, and they’ve got a healthy respect for the tape. The conductivity is so good that if they get a bang off it, they know it — and these boys are no lightweights.

It’s such a good example of how well EquiSol can work for other stock too, especially if you’re setting up a new lifestyle block and want a fencing solution that’s simple, effective, and easy to get up quickly.

A great option when you want to get stock safely contained from the get-go, without overcomplicating things.

If you’re setting up a lifestyle block and want help working out the best fencing setup, send me a message - I'd love to help! 💚

Keeping your horses safe around your property boundary can be a tricky one with the legal requirement for wire fencing. Some people solve it by putting in a whole second fence line with new posts and a gap… but that can get expensive fast!

Or if you’ve got internal sheep netting (or deer fencing) it can be really difficult and time consuming to remove it.

That’s where outriggers are such a smart alternative. 🐴✨
✅ Galvanized steel
✅ Locking insulators tension to each post to keep tape upright and tensioned to minimise wind movement
✅ Keep the tape (and your horses) off the wire
✅ Easy to install
✅ Designed with a bit of give if a horse goes into them
✅ Works seamlessly with the EquiSol tape system — and looks really tidy

I love this message because it highlights two huge benefits of EquiSol: safety and flexibility. 🏇

The locking insulators are designed to release under pressure, so if a horse gets a leg through, the tape gives rather than resisting and injuring them like traditional wire fencing can. When horses do get into the fence you simply thread it back through the insulators and re-tension. The cost of replacing an insulator - much better than the cost of a huge vet bill!

And I also love how Dale has set up cut-to-length tape pieces so she can quickly adjust paddocks throughout the year — smart, simple, and so practical!

Are you thinking about refencing your property? Send me a message, I'd love to help you!
